I was looking at that badass sports play thread and watching the brutal dunks where a guy just shoves the defender out of the way after he posterizes him looked completely foreign to me.
Today's game is a bunch of little guys shooting threes and acting like they got shot when they get "fouled".
I realize the same complaint has been repeated about the NBA for years now, but watching it lately has been particularly bad. It's not fun for me anymore.
Hockey is much more entertaining to me now.

The NBA desperately needs and wants a new Michael Jordan but at the same time I don't think they'd be ok with someone who shit talks and demoralizes opponents like MJ did. MJ ruined one players career with one line of shit talk

I wonder how many guys today are trying to seriously model themselves after The Rock, at least insomuch as using WWE to carve out a lane for themselves in the entertainment business. I don't think anyone is going to perfectly mimic Dwayne's success. Beyond his natural charisma and good looks, dude also was a top guy when their were more eyes on the product than ever. But it seems like the WWE is the finish line for most of the current talent when some of them, if they grinded at it, could move on to other things.
Not knocking being a wrestler as a career. If that's all you want, cool. But I would guess the "just happy to be here" attitude people complaing about current talent having is because a lot of them simply can't think to do anything more than this.
