Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom Begins Filming Tomorrow

"I am finally in England," Momoa's video says in part. "It is sunny out, it's amazing, and I'm gonna start Aquaman 2 tomorrow. This is the last day of the brown. I'm gonna be a blonde. Supposedly [they] have more fun. I don't know about that. We'll test it out. But I'm excited to see [director] James [Wan], see my whole cast."

The Flash and Black Adam both just finished filming. Shazam 2 is still going (I think).

According to twitter, it's going to happen any day now!

I'm actually glad they didn't fire her, I liked her and Mamoa in the first one. Her personal drama with Depp is none of my business.

I would've thought the same, but I see Johnny's career going to shit because of that bi*ch, despite him being victim of abuse, while she laughs and nothing happens. This unfair double standard bothers me a lot.
This gives wrong signal. Basically as long as you are a woman nothing will happen to you, keep abusing. And if you are a man then even being victim will kill your career. No. That's just wrong and must be opposed. Seeing this c*nt's face boils my blood. I wish twitter crowd had succeeded in setting up an example. Nevertheless, I personally will not be seeing it and I hope many don't.

Have they shitcanned Amber Heard?

Sadly, no. They even sent her gifts welcoming her to the team etc

Let's be clear here, both Depp and Heard are pretty awful people who treated each other horribly in their shitty relationship. They both abuse(d) drugs and alcohol, they were both violent and aggressive and both try their damned hardest to get the public on their side. Nobody is innocent here. I'll agree that it is unfair for Depp to be fired from Pirates and Fantastic Beasts (although both those franchises went to shit a while ago) for that, but the answer would be for Depp to have his roles reinstated, not for people to go on these angry, deranged rants online about how Heard is the worst person in the world, and a cunt, a whore, etc...

Hollywood is filled to the brim with pedophiles, rapists, murders, animal abusers and widespread fraud and tax evasion. Two people having a shitty relationship and putting on a show to preserve their career should be the least of everyone's concerns, let alone the primary target of their anger. Same thing happened when Brad and Jolie split up. Suddenly both were flinging shit at each other in public to try and hurt the other person's chances in court. It's all just PR and we are in no way getting a clear picture of what happened.

Genuinely asking, was there any substantial proof (not Heard's claims) of Depp being physically abusive towards Heard? If so, that changes things.
I do remember audio of Heard accepting hitting Johnny multiple times and laughing about it, shitting on his bed and even severing part of his finger.
If not, then c*nt it is.
Edit: Also, all of Johnny's exes have come out openly in his support, saying he is nothing but a nice person and has never shown any abusive tendencies towards them. That's a rare thing and only solidifies that it wasn't that 'both were abusive', but only one.

Not true. They're still all in the same universe, and The Flash resets things.

The only standalones are Joker and The Batman.

There's the rebooted Suicide Squad as well, plus whatever Superman J.J Abrams is cooking up. I don't see them doing a connected JL-like film again either.

Suicide Squad still exists in the same universe. Hell they brought back four cast members from the first (would've been five if Will Smith wasn't filming a different movie at the time).

And they're developing a new JL now. They want JJ to direct it (he probably won't) and they want the writer of BoP/The Flash to write it. They're doing the Kingdom Come Bruce Wayne with Keaton where he assembles a new JL.

I hope you're not referencing We Got This Covered, Cosmicbooknews and similar sites on that one because the only JL that J.J has been attached to, officially, has been the Justice League Dark show on HBO Max, and that's not the same as the film.

As for SS, even if it exists as a continuation, and has some returning cast members, it's obvious it's a reboot and they won't be looking at Ayer's film going forward.

What I'm saying is, the 'DCEU' as it exists right now, or if it does, is only in name. No standalone film they've done lately has bothered with referencing any previous team-up or probably will. That might change tomorrow with WW, Aquaman, Flash, Shazam and whoever else coming together for a new rebooted JL though courtesy of Flashpoint.

No I‘m referencing documentation I have. He’s not attached to anything. He’s listed as who they’re interested in.

What documentation is that? Are you an insider on these things?
Whoever a studio (any of the big ones) begins development on something (even before a writer is hired or a director is found) talent grids are published to the big Hollywood agencies. 90% of these aren’t of much interest, but when one shows up from WB where a new (live action) JL has entered priority development with them talking to JJ about it, that's pretty interesting.

I hate the cancel culture also but it really sucks seeing Depp being canned from Pirates and seeing Amber reactions.

but again I thought its not worth losing sleep over these millionaires. He's gonna be alright.

But have you followed the case thoroughly? I'm not saying it's required content, but I find many people with this "well, they're both bad" takes have missed out on just how bad Heard is.

It seems to be the take of people who aren't interested in the discussion, frankly.

She seems like a true narcissist. Not the type of person you just call that for being a bitch. No, she seems to be the real deal. Depp seems rather innocent, aside from being a bit of a drunk who hardly even retaliated by most accounts.

The people saying this have no fucking clue what they're talking about but I'm not expecting better from NeoGaf to be frank.....

I bet you if the situations were reversed, you wouldn't hear a peep about this "they were both abusive" nonsense. Heard literally hired a PI to find dirt on Johnny. The guy found NOTHING. If anything, people couldn't say better things about him. His generosity and kindness is well well documented, his visits to sick kids without it going public in many instances, his exes speaking of him in glowing terms, his behavior on film sets in his entire life, his professionalism, and him as a person.

Heard on the other side has been arrested for domestic abuse before (yup), also arrested for other things. You can find tons of stories of people who worked with her and remarked how unpleasant she is.

About the facts:

-She literally said during her deposition that she beat Johnny up. She even smirks when hearing herself saying it on a recording. And about those recordings, they're out there for people to listen to. She chastises Johnny for fleeing any time she starts a fight. She calls him a baby, she says that he was not "punched". She mocks him, tells him no one will believe him that he Johnny Depp is a victim of domestic abuse.

-She threw a bottle at him that shattered and sliced a chunk of his finger off.

-The cops that were called to their house?! They testified that there were no injuries or marks on her, one officer was a woman too, and specialized in domestic violence. They examined her up close, no traces. And there are several more witnesses who saw no marks on her during several occasions.

-The bodycam footage by the way of a second set of officers coming back to their house that same day show absolutely no damage in the house, nothing, contrary to what Amber's cronies (who lived rent free at Johnny's expense by the way) claimed. Oops.

-Her ex assistant shared her sexual abuse story with Heard who then stole that story and used it as her own.

-Heard literally went on TV and said she donated her divorce settlement of 7 million dollars both to the ACLU and to the Children's Hospital in LA. Guess what? She never did, the money was never given, we know that to be a fact.

-Several witnesses SAW her abusing Johnny, throwing shit at him.

And there's so much more, that's just the tip of the iceberg. She's out of her fucking mind.

You're right when you say people need to do their research but the clueless few who are still unaware of the truth are just lazy and would rather spout nonsense like "their personal lives doesn't matter to me".

This shit is why male domestic abuse victims aren't taken seriously often.

Also, WB has been going through a PR nightmare with what they did to Ray Fisher, Zack Snyder, as well as other creatives, not to mention the Joss Whedon, Geoff Johns and co fiasco.

What message does it send to possibly keep this monster in a superhero film? They're in for a shitstorm when Johnny wins the VA trial. You've already got tons of people bombarding Wan's and Momoa's IG pots saying they will not watch this film, and believe me, they won't. I can't if they keep her and it's a bummer. Shame on them.

Good write-up.

I agree that the "well, they're both bad" type of response seems ignorant and lazy. This is about more than just choosing your favorite celebrity.
It's hard to take people seriously when they imply that Depp and Heard are equals in this scenario. I mean, if someone actually believes that, I'd love to hear them out, but I can't imagine they've done the research.

I think part of it is a type of recoil from either becoming involved in celebrity culture or being seen as caring about celebrity culture. A sort of "who cares about celebrities? I don't care about celebrities. They aren't *that* important" type of thing. Which, is understandable on some level, but not appropriate to this situation, imo. This has caught the world's attention, and justice being served here would be for the greater good. And just plain right.

“One is not unaware of what is going on in the Twitter-verse, but that doesn’t mean you have to react to it or take it as gospel or accede to their wishes,” said Safran, “You have to do what’s right for the film, and that’s really where we landed on it.”

Oh now suddenly they don't care about twatter?
This is bigger than some social media drama, as Heard's abusive behavior was laid bare by Johnny Depp's defamation lawsuit. There's legal backing behind this, which is different than silly twitter accusations.

Too bad for Momoa, but screw that movie. The first one was silly and dumb anyway.

And if men try to make this an issue like #metoo then they will just say it's "fragile masculinity". They have us in a vice.

Believe all women. Even the ones that defecate on your bed, slice your fingers off, and beat and abuse the shit out of their spouses while pretending to be the victim.

It’s folks like Amber Turd that undercut and make a mockery of the plight and struggle of real victims. And she essentially got away with it.

As someone who hates cancel culture I won't be "cancelling" aquaman 2 and will watch it nor will I exclude Amber Heard movies in the future but the hypocrisy is really pissing me off.
