Didn’t aquaman find the lost kingdom in the first movie. That was where the Dino’s and his mom were hanging out.

Warner Brothers executives awaiting the verdict...

They're fucked now, who is gonna go see that movie with her in it, she's utterly toxic and the fanbase for it will not tolerate her in it, gonna be a few quid spent cgi'in her out or do you think they'll just go fuck it and release it?

Warner, I’ll go from not seeing it at all to seeing it day one. I thoroughly enjoyed the first one. Refusing to see #2 as long as turd is in it taking a #2

Did you really need to bump this when there is already a thread dedicated to the trial?
M8 that thread is about the trial, this is about the multi million dolla sequel to Aquaman whose leading lady is now toxic as fuck and whether or not WB will spend the cash to remove her from the flick the way Ridley Scott got rid of Kevin Spacey in All the money in the World

I think you grossly overestimate the average moviegoer's emotional investment in the Depp v Heard lawsuit.

99 out of 100 people don't give a shit.

Do you think? 4million signatures to remove her will now gain even more traction now that she's been proven to be a liar, how do you promote a film like Aquaman to a group of media savvy nerds with a hated co-star?

If people are going to boycott the film because of Heard then they are stupid. More than 1 person made this film, they ought to see the film to respect what the other 700 people helped make.

But that's true for every single Twitter drama. No one cares about JK Rowling defending real women except less than 1% of people. Or some actor beating a spouse, diddling a kid, harassing a coworker. The overwhelming majority of people don't give a shit about anything that's not right in front of them or affects their paycheck.

Going to see the movie puts more money in her pocket. Fuck her. I'm not going to reward her for her lies. She deservers to have her career in the toilet. I won't support a narcissist and a liar.

If they keep her on, I'll pirate the movie. Not giving them a cent.

How does it put more money in her pocket? She would have already been paid. She doesn't have the celebrity swagger to demand a box office percentage.

tell that to guys and gals that made Solo, that flick was sound and shoulda made bank instead because of the negative publicity around Kennedy & Last Jedi at the time the movie bombed because the fanbase who go to see it and who promote it online all stayed the fuck away, i could see the same thing happening here if they dont get rid of her, would you risk it?

They should remove her or recast + reshoot her part with another actress, big chance people will boycot the movie in some form otherwise it will hurt there sales.

Solo shot itself in the foot by reshooting most of the film but I suspect less than 1% of the audience even knew that.

I'd argue that a radically underwhelming series entry (TLJ) causing the follow-up film to underperform is just common sense for elective entertainment media, it had little to do with the actors or directors or any social media drama. Folks saw TLJ, thought it sucked, and were not excited to see the next Star Wars thing.

I thought Solo was a decent film, not great, but the actors showed promise as young Solo and young Calrissian.

Part of the problem is that the movie was too much feel-good story and had none of the bite and grit that the character deserved and such came up as contrived and artificial, not genuine.

And of course it followed the Ryan Johnson movie… extreme unfavorable conditions.

Ah i see. Thanks for that. was under impression they get more if the movie overperforms so to speak at the box office.
I think the "dealmaker" who testified for Team Depp says she has the standard "option contract" for 3 films. She gets 2 mill for Aquaman, 4 mill for the sequel and 8 mill if they pick up her option for the third film. I think the WB exec doubled down on that testimony - Heard gets her 4 million even if they cut her from the film at this point but they have no obligation to pick her up for the third film if I understand correctly.
