Arc Raiders will have one, last open-to-all test - the 'server slam' (Oct 17th - 19th)

20gb is acceptable. I'll bang this on me and my kid's PCs and we'll give it a go on Sunday.
Not even sure I'll play. Im definitely getting it and progess doesn't carry over so not much point. I've done about 60 hours across the various tests already.

Might as well go in fresh next weekend.

Looks like Tarkov, Concord and the old motorbike helmet in your parents garage had a baby. Will check it out!

UI looks like EA SW Battlefront, is it the same UI people who worked at EA back in the day? Little on the nose but that's cool.

When are these guys going to knock this shit off and make a BF clone?

Missed out last time, so I'm keen to try it while I can. I don't think I could bring myself to blind buy an extraction shooter, although that's what I did with Helldivers 2 (but that's a special one).

In the character creator and I legitimately can't tell which faces are supposed to be female

Edit: oh they're doing the body type A/B thing, that explains it

Oh no, hope it's not a "I'm having a blast, y'all" game, then it's super fucked.

Concern-downloading right now.

Robotic pve enemies was a huge red flag. Those are never fun.

Just watched a stream, this is third person, i kept thinking it was an fps, I'm sure it'll do ok…

I mean, it's just the character creator. Actual gameplay seems fine so far but I've only done the tutorial.

Having said that, this is supposed to be a feminine face with a feminine hairstyle and it just looks like Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor :messenger_grinning_smiling:

Doesn't look that bad to me, neat hair style, beats retarded side cuts.

Not digging their UI, doesn't fit the vibe, AA budget problems.

Third person going to hurt the shit out of this game.

Just wait until you get to the character creator yourself before you say it isn't that bad lol
I might at some point over the weekend, I might be too old for the game, I don't really vibe with wokey Concord-adjacent games.

Strange choice to not go free to play, kind of screams free to play.

The pve enemies are great in this.

Lol at your first sentence, perfectly put. Ironically, that Concord aesthetic does look and fit a little better in this game.

This is Embark Studios who already have The Finals for PVP.

They were the former leads of Dice studios who worked on Bad Company 2 and Battlefield 4.

So far rounds I've played have been rather Meh. It has a nice atmosphere but the gameplay has been PVP all the time. First see first shoot. Pretty lame to be honest.

Takes a lot of creative heavy lifting to make non biological enemies interesting, but I'll take your word for it.
I really couldn't careless for robotic enemies in games that aren't Terminators, lol. But apparently a lot of the AI and tech behind them is what makes them pretty interesting as well.

I'm tempted to try this to see if it's something I'd be even remotely interested in, but I feel like it would end up like my time trying to play Division dark zone where the no lifers make it basically impossible to enjoy this type of experience.

So what's the consensus on this for those that have been playing? Also, is there anything out there to compare this to gameplay wise? I tried Tarkov and fell off it quick due to it being ridiculously punishing and not something I could hop in and out of.

Certainly high learning curve. If you have played mostly first person shooter the third person gameplay takes time to kick on. Its basicly staying behind walls and using the view to peek around. The combat is very punishing if you come up against people who have played somewhat more. Matches ranged from 2 minutes to longer as the spawns were so close to another teams

Action is shoot on sight and for the few matched I played exit areas were populated by people who just wanted to shoot you.

Played a few games and every exit point has been an ambush, Not appealing to me after searching an area for 10 mins..unless I'm on the ambush team :messenger_smiling_horns:

Ah ok so much like every other extraction shooter then. My usual group has played hundreds of hours of PUBG so we're all familiar with that type of gameplay, although I'm hoping this feels more polished.

Much more polished, although I've not played PUBG in quite a while.

Its pretty good I played two rounds on my claw 8ai (ran perfectly at medium - 65/80 fps) and high at around 58fps. Imagine if this can run it Ps5 Will run it like a dream.

Game itself is just like the previous beta very good mechanics and gameplay always a rush when extracting.

I just played one round and I really enjoyed it, the atmosphere is amazing. I came across one player and we slowly approached each other and left each other alone and went about our way.

Then as I was extracting, I saw one player shooting at another so I killed him from behind and then me and the other player extracted together safely.

What I really like about this is afterwards you can see who you interacted with and how. One was marked as proximity, one was marked as downed, and the other was marked as extracted together. This is such a cool feature.

So this game is not like The Division right? You have to fight other players to survive as well

Shame I wanted to try it but mandatory PVP is a turn off for me
