Oh god I had already forgotten about that.Squidy making a piss poor gotcha especially after Seath trying it with him already....
There must be some mighty holes in your Cop branded umbrella, because you're getting soaked and then some, partner.
I had to bring it back
There's plenty of time to change votes, and I'm not swinging anything. Consider how I haven't trusted squidy for the whole game so far, though, as well.I'm actually more thrown by Septimus jumping straight on the lynch. A few players commented but he dived straight in.
This also just reminds me of my botched role claim in AC where I contradicted myself in the very same post however.
Yeah, I'm lurking a bit because whenever I say something, more often than not it's something stupid, which people think is me purposely trying to muddy the waters.I took notice of that but was focused on Squidy's claim and what angle he was playing at. He(Sept) seems to be lurking. Has he said anything about Cabbeh's thoughts on him?
To explain my actual checks a little bit more I wanted to get people I thought were going to survive for a while, so people who weren't necessarily getting the most suspicion at the time because those people are likely to get lynched anyways. So burbeting wasn't exactly high suspicion but he was in the wrong place at a couple of points in time that caught my attention.
Then from day 1 I had a nagging suspicion in the back of my mind about haly so I checked him n2, but I wasn't sure if it was the right time to reveal because I thought some of the stuff Topo had said on d2 was going to come back to bite him and we might kill a mafia through him. So I decided to hide on the mission team and only brought up Haly a little bit, at least part of the reason being that I'd have something to point back at but not so much that it'd draw mafia's suspicion.
Then on the mission team my choices were limited, I know now that I should have gone with Mazre but I was worried I was being pocketed by palmer and I figured zeke was so out and in front of things his claim would either hold fast or fall apart on its own and so he didn't make a good early check.
And then I did the dumbest thing I'd ever done in a mafia game and claimed I had 4 checks, which wasn't a slip but just a really fucking bad idea.
I was just making sure that I didn't miss a night as well but yeah, you just claimed a future investigation and then played it off like: "Ah hah! I was just testing you."
Give me a break.
I figured zeke was so out and in front of things his claim would either hold fast or fall apart on its own and so he didn't make a good early check.
It's a strategy known as "throwing a teammate under the bus".If I'm mafia the only way I'm actually generating any credibility is if Haly and I are mafia together and I'm willing to straight up sacrifice him for it.
I took notice of that but was focused on Squidy's claim and what angle he was playing at. He(Sept) seems to be lurking. Has he said anything about Cabbeh's thoughts on him?
I am apparently really bad at rules. I will stfu in the future.
My reasoning hasn't changed. After the Visualante2 incident on Day 1, I suspected squidyj and GLT (now Darryl) for orchestrating that last-second save. The total votes on each person are small enough right now where a last-minute swing by all KGB could save their own in an emergency.
So, I decided to vote for squidyj. And then Darryl volunteered.
The way I see it is this: if Honeypot is a role whose win condition is triggered when he kills Archer and Darryl is the Honeypot, then he has nothing to lose to go on the mission right now. He goes, he kills Archer, and he wins; what we do to him afterward won't change that. The only way to stop that potential scenario from playing out is to lynch Darryl right now, so I changed my vote to him.
What's striking now, though, is all this newfound focus on Zubz. What a coincidence that the guy we tried to vote out on D1 is likely to again be saved by a last-minute swing. You guys don't think this should at least warrant some scrutiny toward Darryl?
Can someone give me a brief rundown of why cabbeh and Arkos are accepted Agency? Thanks in advance!
Oh, I see. That also makes sense.
Well, I can't exactly go back and change my previous posts, but maybe I can explain it with some bullet points:
1. I have played offline Mafia before, including some card-based variants like Bang!, and I enjoy those.
2. I've never played online Mafia before.
3. I've never played a Mafia game with missions.
If you'll go back and read my "playing dumb" posts, you'll see that all my questions and faulty assumptions pertained to one specific component of the rule set--namely the rule that I've never encountered before (and clearly misunderstood). How does it not make sense that I would want to clear this up right away, and after having cleared it up, have a normal understanding of all the other basic rules, which apply to all Mafia games?
It was actually beneficial for at least one other player that I asked about it, too, since he and I both thought LGB could double kill.
VOLUNTEER
I suspect I will be targeted if not lynched this day.

I don't think you're mafia. You have been on my case since day 1, but haven't been able to gain any traction. Now you come forward with this thing at severe risk to yourself, but mess it up in the middle.Okay, here's the deal, if I'm mafia I gain what? one day's lynch? is Haly such an important role that this really matters? You lynch Haly, see he's town, then lynch me and I turn out to be mafia.
It's this one, guys.2. He's town and not thinking logically

Or you lynch me, see I'm cop and then lynch Haly and lose my ability to make investigations for the rest of the game.
If I'm mafia the only way I'm actually generating any credibility is if Haly and I are mafia together and I'm willing to straight up sacrifice him for it.
All around this might be a bad play by a town cop but it's stupendously fucking stupid for a mafia player. It's game-losing for mafia and I am not exaggerating. If I am mafia I am giving town the opportunity to go 1 for 1, lynch 1 town for 1 mafia.
Bussing.... generally I wouldn't bus one of my better-hidden teammates, I would pick someone more obvious, if septimus or seath are mafia I'd bus them before I'd bus haly for example.
Like, I really want you guys to tell me what the upside is for mafia if
A. I'm mafia and Haly isn't
B. Haly and I are mafia together.
Because I'm not seeing it.
Vote: Haly
Well why did you think it was a good idea to role claim this early in the game when you only had one confirmed KGB? You should've just soft claimed by voting for Haly.
You do realize that now you're probably not going to get any more reads off of people since there is a role blocker around, right?

Oh I almost forgot.
Vote: Haly
So you are sticking with claiming Lana?
Do you have anything else to say?
Especially after the mission chat?
Where are you lying?
He did vote for Haly out of the blue on D2, which I noticed. Thought it was odd at the time, but ignored it because I was set on Topo.
Did something come up in the chat?
Except he's claiming he investigated him N2, so that vote would have had nothing to do with an investigation.

Sorry guys, its like too early here... I have some thoughts but its Sunday morning and I was boozing last night and the daydayday started at 7 AM my time ;_____;
Havent read thoroughly, but I think squidy's thingy is easy enough to prove by Haly's Mafianess. So Im with squidy on this!
Will be back later once i has coffee and my head clears a bit more
OH ALSO I STILL HATE YOU GUYS
........... for ending D3 earleeehhhh ..... it be messing up with the days and now the game starts on sunday morning instead of monday morning for me >:C
I'll buy that.
VOTE: Haly
I was trying to protect myself in mission chat.
Bad logic? Where?I am going to do as I said and go to bed and sleep on this, but yeah.
Summary of my thoughts:
- I want to trust squidy, but his farcical claim is making it tough to be absolute. I don't have much qualms in voting Haly, but I'll let more information come before changing my vote.
- Kris is showing some strange mixture of bad logic and intense aggro. I remember the beginning of D3, this happened with Ezekel and it raised flags, now it has raised more flags.
- I'll keep on Septimus, because I'm pretty sure he won't be dogpiled currently considering the situation.
So you have nothing to say about anything else discussed?I was trying to protect myself in mission chat.
Bad logic? Where?
We've caught him with his pants down. I'm going to be aggressive.
Silly goose, I'm talking about squiddyj. How have you caught me with my pants down?
I'm inclined to believe squidy, simply because if he was KGB, I find it hard to believe that none of him teammates caught that mistake. His playstyle doesn't really feel like he's playing a cop though.
So you have nothing to say about anything else discussed?
How exactly?
Answer or do not, I've been surprised by how little people ask about what actually goes on in the mission chat. It's not what you think. Sure there are sex parties and foreign (possibly under-age) prostitutes and green Russians, but there can be some relatively substantive stuff that goes on in there, according to my N1 experience.
How open do you think we should be (or should we expect others to be) about the contents of mission chat? It can be helpful to have "secret" side-discussions, but it can also be detrimental if the KGB are able to manipulate those discussions.
My question is very simple: is it more valuable to town to have the contents of the mission discussion kept "secret" or to have it be as open as possible? I can't figure it out myself and I'm not about to tell you aboutPalmer's massive boneranything that may or may not have happened, but I have been very surprised that a conversation about this topic has not taken place already.
Please don't let this be a derail, just... consider it.
