Are there Bad Nintendo games?

Not-very-good

- Pokémon Stadium for N64
- Pokémon Dash for NDS
- Mario Party sequels
- Doshin the Giant
- Star Fox Adventures

Quite a consistent pattern. Very few games actually developed by Nintendo, mainly their early stuff.

You have serious issues.

Not really.. There will always be games that dont appeal to you perhaps.Okay yes Yoshi Story thing was insult to Island bigtime. Well there is sunshine too but by Nintendo standards its incredibly bad but by others is good or at least average. I think zelda, mario, franchises were in weakest form this gen but I think that will change for next round.

Also, the original StarFox for SNES

I mean, it's basically unplayable. The thing runs at like 12 frames per second.

And each of those 12 frames better than any other game that tried to compete with it during those years :) StarFox was a fine game. The only complaint I've ever heard about it was the inability to save at any point.

judged as a shooter though, it's pathetic compared to something like Gradius III or Axelay or any of the Thunder Force games...

Axelay perhaps, but I'd take Star Fox over most of the Thunder Force games ANY day :)

There's to categories for me in bad Nintendo games:

1) Bad games: Kirby's Air Ride, Uniracers, .... ??
2) Not good enough: Super Mario Sunshine, Wind Wanker, Mario Party 43, Animal Crossing, ... ?

I think i miss some Nintendo games that could fit in those 2 categories...

Sunshine was saved by the warp levels. The rest of the game was fine, though not amazing, but the warp levels were so amazing it pushes any other crap out of the way and shouts: "Buy this game!"

And we did.

Why don't people get banned for starting stupid train-wreak threads like this... But people get banned if they post late information??

You people have no concept of what "bad games" are. Mario Kart: Double Dash?! Mario 64??

Many of the 1st generation NES games were shit: 10-yard fight, Golf, Backstreet Brawler..

Double Dash is the worst Nintendo game I've ever played. Keep in mind that this list excludes everything scoring less than an 8 on Gamerankings, as I don't generally buy poorly reviewed games unless they're unque.

I enjoyed them they were good at the time they were released along with Kung Fu from Konami.

Arkanoid used to good back in the days too.

Going by GameRankings.Com

Bad < 70%
Mediocre < 80%
Good < 90%
Great 90% or better

Then yes Nintendo has created some bad games. Many mediocre.

I think some of you need to play real bad games ;). If the question is about a direct, real "bad" games, few ones in my opinion (Pokemon Channel comes to my mind). Other thing is average games, that is a word too obscure to give a sure sentence about it, it´s mostly opinions as you can see in this thread.

I really believe that given number of games/time in business, Nintendo is possibly the most solid developer.

Pretty much the same goes for Majora's Mask. It was definitely a step down from OoT.

...when it comes to Nintendo games, I actually tend to agree with drone usually (strong distate for AC, Prime, etc). Except when it comes to F-Zero X, he's just hopelessly wrong there.

I'm going with Mario Kart: Double Dash.

I agree. That is one of the worst games I've ever played that came from nintendo. Oh and even though it's not nintendo made, Eternal Darkness fucking SUCKS!

Traded that shit in two days after I got it for monkey ball.

As for games I think suck by Nintendo. Of the ones I've played, I have to go with:

Gyroscope <-- seriously WTF? I'm still mad about this one. Stupid robot. :\

Animal Crossing<--- sorry but I can't be the only one who doesn't get it. I think some of you are suckers. There I said itr. I mean come on! Do you realize Nintendo tricked you into decorating houses and doing chores?! :lol :lol

Yoshi's Safari- Dumb Dumb DUMB!

Can't think of anything else. I mean, there's definately some games that are not top tier, but horrible?

Yeah, I really got suckered...

I doubt you're the only one who doesn't "get it", but there is certainly a very large number of people who do.

I was one of the people who thought Double Dash sucked until recently when I began playing it with friends. 3 + players is awesome, one of the best multiplayer games I've played this gen.

Majora's Mask is my favorite Zelda ever, and the only one I've played through till the end. I wouldn't think about playing it without a strategy guide though, too much stuff to figure out. So I can understand why some wouldn't like it.

StarFox on SNES was amazing back than. It played just fine in the days of 16 bit games. I had a lot of fun with that game.

Hmmmm... TooT and Majora's Mask come to mind. I saw Yoshi's Safari mentioned by someone; I actually liked that. Gave me a distraction from playing Battle Clash and Mole Patrol all the time. :)

10 Yard Fight was technically IREM, right?

Some Nintendo games I think that were bad:

Urban Champion
Popeye
Any of the Pokemon Stadiums
Earthbound
Yoshi's Safari

and for what it's worth, I never cared much for Kid Icarus, and I really want to like Clu Clu Land, but I don't :P

Super Mario Sunshine - the point at which I lost any remaining faith in Nintendo.

I don't understand the contempt everyone has for this game. I thought it was like having pure fun injected right into my eye :(

Pokemon Colloseum. It makes me cry, hell I even love the stadium games, but a stadium game this is not. Worst attempt at a "game" ever.

Can't think of anything else.. Mario Kart: Double Dash is AWESOME by the way. :P
