lol the ending. Before I watched the video, I thought the premise might be something about Asian ethnicities being "Asian" enough to be able to talk about other Asian ethnicities with authority or something.

What does the dude say at 2:08? Be honest with your what?

Also, the dude says, "you are Asian enough to make your own kimchi without looking like a (twee?) douchbage".

Twee? What is that?

That ending...

If being 1/16 of a minority is like being half a slice of pizza, then being 1/32 or even 1/64 must be the equivalent of this:

I use to watch Mickey and the Beanstalk all the time when I was little, admittedly it might've been because it was on a tape with something else I watched a lot.

Who in real life says they're in 1/32 something lol

Probably the white folks who will have surnames like "Yang", "Cho", or "Nakamura". They're not adopted, it's just that their great great grandfather was Asian. And all the kids from then on only stayed on the white side of the fence.

lol I see. You know, I still don't know what he means by that.

The guy has a build that is more typical of a white guy than an asian guy, which I honestly can see what he is trying to say because he has broader shoulders and is generally more thick. There are thick asians (*cough*Don'tgoogleitatwork*cough*), but generally on average, asians have a more slim build, though you can of course find them of varying body types.

I got most of the jokes haha especially about how you say your grandma makes better food lol my dads full asian and my mom is half white half asian so I think Im asian enough :)

I assume he means that since he looks like a bulkier dude, it makes him look like those fat white japanophiles. (rather than a skinny Asian guy because all Asian guys are skinny?)

OK, I guess I see that. What I'm actually trying to figure out the most is - what is the punchline supposed to be. Like, why is that line, and the guy's response, "Yeah that makes sense, I kind of agree with you" supposed to be funny? Is it ironic somehow? He's supposed to own up to his white "build" or something?

I'm also not sure what that has to do with liking anime, since the judge talks about the guy's "build" in the same sentence.

He doesn't look like an otaku, an anime nerd, that's why it's brought up. He has a thicker build instead of a scrawny nerd build.

He's just agreeing with them. Theres nothing more to it. You're over thinking it.
The guy is sort of portly and pudgy, which is a build that a lot of the white otaku type have. So if he were to really like anime, he'd be thrown in with those stereotypes, thus making him look more white.

I liked it, though I don't know that it was super funny.

I admit I am guilty of playing up my Asianosity when around non-Asians.

I rather people acknowledge their cultural heritage than deny it, especially with indigenous heritage as that has been so repressed. Though it's annoying for people to claim it but not seem to give two shits about it. That's where it gets me.

Fat Caucasians more likely to be into anime than Asian Americans.

I wasn't invited to this panel.

Native Americans?

He means 1/32 is such a small genetic percentage it's not even visually noticeable in most cases for example. I'm 1/4 Native American and it's noticeable in my Hair and Facial Structure ,etc but my brother's children are 1/8 Native American haven't gotten nearly any recognizable Native American features so it would be harder for them to claim being Native American (Though not impossible as this video kinda deals with) and with 1/32 being 2 generations after that it's typically not seen as enough to claim being mixed race (Though one drop rule with African American Ancestry did use it) as really everybody is probably 1/32 a lot of things and it's generally a lot harder to prove because of poor ancestry database.

Im 1/8 Hispanic but I always check off white on stuff.

If it only gives me 1 option I generally choose white or mix-raced preferable if they give that option. On doctor sheets It's important to list both races/ethnicity just because it gives them a heads up on genetic disorders for example I have a bone deformity which luckily is mostly cosmetic but if they didn't know I was part Native American they almost confused it for a more serious condition which would have put me in the hospital for like 6 months.

I'm 1/2 Asian, but no one would even know if they didn't see my last name tbh, that video was pretty fun though.
