I'd say you couldn't make this shit up but that point was probably passed a long while back.

I mean I can understand a moments hesitation, a check who he was but to just shoot?

Maybe the cop's blood sugar was low because he didn't get his crunchwrap supreme at lunch. But in all seriousness, whatever happened to "Police! Drop the weapon!". I'm glad I'm not a gun owner. It would probably just end up getting me shot by the police (or myself, since I have been known to have dark days).

White supremacy workin as intended folks. See a Black man holding a firearm in his own home? Assume he's a criminal and reflexively shoot on sight.

Mammoth..you know what NOT to do!

Don't be Black, apparently. Honesty would be nice for a change...

only white people get the benefit of the doubt

This is a fact. If anyone disagrees their full of shit

I personally hope the NRA Or the NRA's token black friend call this bullshit out for hahahahhah I tried. I couldn't type that out with a straight face.

I too want to know what Killer Mike thinks about this!

When I am approached by a cop, I make sure to have nothing in my hands and keep them displayed open (not theatrically, just naturally). If I have something in my hands, like a phone, I do not put it into my pocket. When I am pulled over I get out my registration and ID and place them on the dashboard, roll down the window, turn of the radio, and chill with both hands on the wheel. I've taught my half-black nephews the same.

I do this after seeing a black friend get screamed at about "going for something" when he politely agreed to get his registration and reached for the glovebox - where of course most people keep it. The cop even put his hand on his piece. Another time I was with one my darker-skinned Filipino friends and I thought the cop was going to shoot him when he went into his back pocket to get his ID after the cop asked for it. It felt like he was looking for a reason to shoot him. I realize he probably wasn't, but it damn sure felt like it.

Yeah, that shit blew my mind when I first saw it. I told my roommate, shit, if that was one of us they'd throw us under the jail. I still don't understand how that guy was not arrested. I understand the 2nd amendment (well, the initial intention of it anyway) but I don't think that extends to putting people in your sights like you're the fucking "American Sniper". These nutjobs are dangerous. Sad thing is they all probably wanted to be cops when they were growing up.

yep, i keep my hands on the steering wheel until they get to my car and ask for my paperwork. no sudden movements. i'm not black but i grew up poor in Arkansas (moved here in 9th grade, not born here) with long hair and always wore heavy metal t-shirts since i was a headbanger. This was the around the time that the West Memphis Three/Robin Hood Hills murders occurred and let me tell you the fear of devil worshippers in arkansas at the time (even for years before the west memphis three) was ridiculous. And since I was a long hair with a Slayer shirt on, i was definitely one of them there devil worshippers.

Can you link me this thread? I'd like to see it because it sounds interesting, and I can't find it.

Also, there're barely any threads posted here where that happens. When there are they normally die out pretty quick. I would absolutely say that if evidence was needed to come to a conclusion. I hope you realize that when you mock "Let's wait for facts" like it's a dumb thing to do when evidence is lacking, you're saying "Obviously, you should knee jerk react, the fuck is wrong with you?"
It's the thread about a shit cop from Fox Lake Illinois, look harder.
Where did I mock you wait and see folks? I pointed out that you people only seem to do it in threads where the victim is black.

I'm half white and asian, but people always think I'm hispanic. I learned early that the cops treated me differently than my white friends. I was coached by a black guy (ex coworker, great guy) on how to act around cops after telling him a story.

I too want to know what Killer Mike thinks about this!

I was thinking Colion Noir but him too.

I wouldn't call the cops to report a guy with a gun and then wait for them with a gun in my hand.

That doesn't mean the cop is blameless. I'm pretty sure you're supposed to give suspects a chance to drop their guns before shooting. However, if the suspect is already waiving a gun at you, I'm pretty sure you're allowed to fire first.

I'm pretty glad I only need to worry about when to jump in front of cars at the roundabouts.

There's always the risk that the cop sees you taking something out of the glove compartment.

Now black people aren't going to call the police anymore.

Well done, sir. Whoever you are, hope your heads held high.

There's always the risk that the cop sees you taking something out of the glove compartment.

When I got pulled over for having an expired registration I opened the glove compartment to find the expired one, but I couldn't. The cop walked up to the window and said "Sir, please stop. What are you looking for in the glove compartment?" I said "My registration." he told me to not bother and never asked for it. Now, I wait until after the officer tells me to get my registration after I tell him there are no weapons in the vehicle (I don't even own a gun).

You may not have, but the person that I replied to when you entered our discussion did.

Also, I'm not you people. I'm a person who would rather make their opinion based off of evidence. That simple. If there's enough evidence for me to form an opinion, I won't wait to do so. Classifying me in the same group as a person that uses that as an excuse to hinder discussion wouldn't be correct.

I'll do it wherever I see fit, correlation/causation. There're more threads on this site about black victims than white victims. Trying to have an unbiased opinion shouldn't be looked down upon because of that.

Trying to have an unbiased opinion shouldn't be looked down upon because of that.

I know you imagine yourself as this high minded unbiased person who likes to have all the facts in order and reserve judgement in order to make a fair and impartial decision regarding a particular situation but you're being contrarian and going out of your way to excuse cops behavior. You're dismissive and condescending. This situation didn't occur in a bubble. There's a context of racial bias that's in play.

I wish I got to live in that idealistic snow globe of yours but the reality is cops see a Black male and they tend to get far more "afraid" and concerned for their safety.

I don't know about high minded, maybe more like emotionless sack of shit. I'm not sure why you always attack me as a person before attacking my argument, but it's unnecessary. It's funny how different I am compared to how you think I am.

Also, I don't go out of my way to excuse cop behavior. You can look at this thread for that if you'd like.

I'll tell you what I do, specifically (In threads I deem necessary to do so, I'm not going into a Cheeto's burrito thread doing this). I go into a thread. I look to see if I can form my opinion with the information there. I'll search google to find other sources as well. If I can't form an opinion, I look to see if others have. Once I've found someone that I see making claims that I didn't find information to support, I engage in conversation. Either asking for information, or wondering how they came to that conclusion. If I think it's bullshit, I'll call it out.

What does this have to do with anything?

"I don't see you do that in threads with white victims" Because I haven't saw one of those threads in a while. So yeah, I'm not going to be in there doing that as often because they don't exist in the same quantity.

Were the white victims, victims because they were white?

What does this mean? You trying to dig around to expose me as a racist or something?

Victims are victims, of course, silly.

I'm not attacking you as a person. I'm attacking your assertion that you're "unbiased". I don't buy it for a second. You simply prefer giving the cops the benefit of the doubt over the innocent people they harm. Which is fine but just admit it.

Man you have shit reading comprehension. Where did I write anything about white people?
Also, you have been doing this defense of cop shtick for quite some time.

That was a point towards Mammoth. If you read what he quoted, it compared the amount of white vs black victim threads. I didn't quote you specifically because I was making a clearer point since he didn't pull "what I meant by it" from the first post he quoted.

EDIT: Also, once again, can we stop with insults. It's tiring. Especially when the reason you insulted me was misled.

That's fine if you think that, but like I said, correlation =/= causation. You may think that because the threads that I tend to be in the most are the threads that I disagree with the general consensus, solely because it's more engaging. So when there's thread about a cop that I believe did wrong, and most people in there agree, I sometimes poke in for a second, and then I leave. I'm not the type to sit around in a thread posting "I agree" and dog-piling suicide accounts until they're banned.

Dude, I'm not here to debate your posting habits on this forum. I'm not that meta. I like to keep this debate on the discussion. I'm specifically referring to this thread. So any previous debates are shelved for me. If I implied otherwise I apologize.

That being said you got a society where White people straight up pointed guns at law enforcement over some old man's cattle. They didn't get shot. Why the discrepancy? Protip: Racial bias against Blacks.

Historical context is key. If we are aware of the historical origins of policing in America it's not difficult to put two and two together and get four.

Given that history I'm simply unwilling to give police the benefit of the doubt. You do. We disagree.

I agree with you. I'm not sure why you replied to my point towards Enzom21, I think if you read back further in that post string you'll see that the discussion went elsewhere.

I saw enough that I didn't "give them the benefit of the doubt"
