Arrested Development 4/3: Meet the Veals

Okay, yeah it just got done showing in the East Coast, but God damn, this was probably the best episode this season.

Michael: (about going to church) We don't really go religiously.

George Michael: Ann's family went to pre-dawn mass, and now then they went to regular mass.
Michael: Ann's got a lot of mass.

GOB's Franklin puppet was friggin' hilarious.
:lol

Also, it may have been serendipitous that the boards went down when they did, as I was scouring the internet for internet chatter about AD and the-op was having a t-shirt giveaway which I may have potentially won. West Coaster, check it out because they'll have a second giveaway. :)

Lucille: Whats so important that you're dragging me away from this miserable party?

G.O.B.: Well i just had an old friend who wanted to tell you--

Franklin: How much i miss you!

Lucille: Aw who let this little black assh--

[gets ethered by G.O.B.]

Buster: Hey brother.

Franlink: Who you calling brother you hook ass--

Buster: MOTHER!

[gets ethered by G.O.B.]

George Sr.: What the hell kind of puppet does Buster have on his hand?

G.O.B.: Just let me think! Oh God Franklin your breath--Oh God.

[G.O.B. ethers himself]

Tobias jumping with the umbrella might be one of my favorite scenes in the show's history. I almost fell off my bed

What a hilarious episode, couldn't get much better than that.

The next Arrested Development part was great with Franklin on Buster's hook.

Tobias jumping with the umbrella was one of the funniest things I've ever seen, but for some reason when Michael told Oscar to shut up, Buster replied to Michael's question, and then Oscar said, "YOU shut up!"... that fucking rocked.

GOB's puppet: I ain't kissing that old bitch!

George Sr.: That's my wife you bastard! *beings choking puppet*

:lol

What's the show number for this? season 2/18?

Is Zach Braff going to be in the next episode?

Edit -

Tonight was episode 2x16. I believe that there are two more episodes left this season?

Buster: My father was here!
Oscar: Maybe... he's still here...
(music wells up)
Michael: shut up!

The whole scene with the limousine was great, but I have no idea what Franklin was saying to the guard at the gate since I was laughing too hard at the situation.

I love how they did a close up on George Sr. face, then G.O.B's face then the puppet's face :p

Zach Braff will be on the next episode, he is the creator of "Girls with Low Self esteem". BTW,
Kitty returns and kidnaps George Sr.

What a great episode. It's a shame there's only 2 (or was it 3?) episodes left. Ann's mom is a total MILF! :lol

Just a reminder to West-Coasters, the-op is gonna be having some more t-shirt giveaways for answering a trivia question. If it's like the east coast one, have ALL your info, filled out except for the answer (obviously) and your button on the "send" button to get it in there. I was late, and I sent it in immediately. :(

Good luck!

LMAO ... this show and 24 have became my two favorite shows on TV today. The Tobias thing was so f'n hilarious!

Then I watched some reruns Friday night and Tobias cracked me up. Anyone know the exact quote, it went something like, 'Here comes John Wayne. I won't shed a tear pa! I'm gonna build an airport pa!' LMAO, that was hilarious. This show is the funniest I've seen since Seinfeld.

Tobias: Here he comes. Here comes John Wayne. I'm not gonna cry about my Pa. I'm gonna build an aiport; put my name on it. Why Michael? So you can fly away from your feelings?

LMAO ... the John Wayne sidestep made that whole quote awesome.

:lol Another awesome eps. Anne's mom ruled, the whole buildup to a typically disasterous Bluth family function was great.

Franklin putting Lucille, Buster then GOB to sleep was hilarious.

G.O.B.: Franklin said some things Whitey wasn’t ready to hear.

Michael: G.O.B., weren’t you also mercilessly beaten outside of a club in Torrance for that act?

G.O.B.: He also said some things that African-American-y wasn’t ready to hear either.

:lol

Best ep of Arrested Development yet, I'm still laughing. I can't wait to buy these on DVD. Some really clever writing and awesome acting. I missed last week's...was that the one with Ben Stiller? I'm gonna have to go get the torrent.

Indeed. I always liked this show, but today's ep was just too damn awesome. I loved the music they used during the whole limo scene. Really dramatic, but considering the nature of the scene just helped make it even funnier.

Has there been an announced release date for the Season 2 DVD, and whether or not it'll include all 22 episodes?

If the show comes back, I'd assume the DVD would be out in October. If it doesn't, then I'd say expect it in August/September.

There aren't 22 episodes as Fox cut back the order before they were filmed.

I'm really pissed about Fox cutting the order because you can tell the writers plan things out way in advance. I'm wondering if plot development was sacrificed, or if they just held back on those last four episodes hoping they can use them next season if there is one.

What has FOX actually done with AD that's made everyone so pissed off? There's a good chance they WILL screw the show over, but they haven't so far.

They cut it short because it would've gotten murdered in sweeps. As for next season, they haven't said anything negative about the show yet. I know people have a right to be paranoid because it's FOX and all, but at least wait until they do something before cursing them for killing AD.

I just finished watching this ten minutes ago, and I'm still laughing uncontrollably. There were several hilarious bits, and I can't recall a single unfunny moment in the show. Awesome.

I loved--LOVED--the look on GOB's face when he was trying to get Franklin's fist up. It was like a shudder of relief.

<George Michael> ... she was really looking forward to seeing me in my Uncle Sam outfit in that "Get Out the Vote" assembly tomorrow.
<Maeby> Wasn't that supposed to be before the election?
<George Michael> Yeah, they had to postpone it when that foreign exchange student parked too close to the gym.
<Annyong> I'll do it! I'll play Uncle Sam! Better than part I have now, "guy who order strike on Pearl-Harbour".

:lol Gob does the best "awkward nervousness" look. Will Arnett was born to play this role.

This episode was hilarious. The end with Buster and Franklin was damn funny :lol

It turns out that there are only 18 eps for this season, and this one was number 16.....last season had 22.
What the fuck are Fox doing? normally when the ep count goes down like this, it means their gonna cancel it. I hope that doesn't fucking happen, cos if they do, they really are the dumbest broadcaster ever. they sure heck do cancel some of the best shows on TV, fucking bastards.

agree. funniest episode of the series.. I spit soda through my nose when Tobias went through the coffee table. I also laughed uncontrolably for some reason when George Sr. told Gob to ether anybody else who sees and the camera pans slightly to show tobias standing in the room, uncomfortably. so he starts singing one of his stupid nanny songs.. lol..

I am an optomist also and hope that Fox was just doing manuevering by cutting the order short and will still bring this back next season. This show is way better than any of us deserve anyway.. at least we've gotten two seasons out of it.. hopefully three. I can't see fox pulling it if they keep winning emmys (I guarantee they'll be up for and win more emmys this year)

I also want to know this.

I will preorder the Season Two DVD within 1.5 seconds of its announcement.

You mean they haven't done stuff like cut the episode number from 22 to 18? And given AD practically no advertising, but wonder why the ratings aren't there? Oh, nevermind then. How could I question Fox for crying over ratings, when they go all out with a "Save AD" website hardly anyone, besides current AD fans, are going to see? Screw ad spots during Fox's top rated shows! What would that help? Fox is good.

There has been no announcement of DVD release, and there are most definitely only 18 episodes, as that's all that was filmed. Fox reduced the order just a few days before production ended on the 18th episode from what I can tell, although they did do a few reshoots because of this, such as the stuff in episode 2.15 about the reduced housing order.

They could have easily just aired them in June like they did last year. It's not like Fox follows the standard Sept. - May tv season anymore anyway.

No, I know they did cut stuff, but I'm wondering if they just abandoned it altogether, or if it was just pushed back to next season, assuming there is one.

Guess I got lucky by seeing this episode. Earlier eps didn't really keep me interested and I switched past them, but for some reason this one kept me from clicking away (Cross and his Mrs. Doubtfire getup may have sealed the deal, then the puppet... :lol ).

This episode was one of the funniest things I've seen in a very long time. Awesome. Serious fans should use this ep to "convert" doubters.
