What's wild is they didn't even try to U-Turn, that Miss Freeze skin still gives me nightmares, it's like they just double-downed on the terrible designs.

It's funny, SS has seemingly ended up as one of the "better" flops of the year despite how crappy it is.

It's good that they're keeping their promise by adding the offline mode. That said, the game is probably the dullest one I've played so far this year.

That sucks for Rocksteady, because they've always been awesome.ah, that explains the recent sale on steam, I almost bit! I'm glad I've watched the Angry Joe review before, because the game mechanics are repetitive AF.

That's at least a 10x boost since the game was trickling at 100-200 users per day before BF.

A smart marketing manager will use the low of about 100 and say it's was a 25x banger.
We boosted sales 20x by selling it at 1/20 the price!
 
I swear the overuse and misuse of the word "work" is more cringe than anything this game produced. If every complaint about a video game is about everything but the gameplay all the time. To me that says more about the player. How do you allow stupid ish to 180 your view every single time something you don't deem conventional is present? 🤷🏿‍♂️

This game seemed doomed from the start. Yikes.

I called it back in February lol. But seriously though, considering rumors majority of Rocksteady were assigned to different projects, it kinda made sense they wouldn't have anything beyond that rumored 4th season as majority of post-game stuff were developed prior to game even launched

The sad thing is, even despite having a strong woman protagonist (or arguably THE strong woman protagonist), they will find a way to fuck it up. I half expect Steve Trevor to be trans and WW to be gay for him (or would that make her straight still?), an impossibly diverse cast with women boss police chiefs/FBI Directors and bumbling men who just can't get it right without the help of others.

anyone really cares about WW? Sure she's part of the DC trinity but it always has been Batman (milked way too much with crap projects like this), then Superman which is hard to do because the character beyond the powers, it's boring af and then goes WW which has its purists and then comes the devs and their ideas of "because female character" = douchebag dyke with awful personality 🤦‍♂️
 
Not true, there was a rumor it was supposed to have Season 5. That rumor was started by a leaker who to my knowledge was correct about a lot of stuff
...you said rumoured 4th season, not 5th; the 4th season was never rumoured, it's confirmed by the game itself when you finish the story.

Really? The only time I saw it being played was during a show, probably the game awards where all the character was doing was shooting purple blobs, blobs that didn't seem to react. It was such a bad first impression that I never bothered to look at it again.

I have all of Rocksteady’s previous games and I’m still wavering on whether or not to spend the $5 to get this. 🤷‍♂️
As someone who has thousands of hours across the Arkham games, and a couple dozen in Suicide Squad, let me give you some advice:

Don't. Spend that money on anything else. Hell, you'd get more satisfaction from burning it.

I mean, it’s repetitive but the characters control great and the combat is fun, it’s just wasted because everything else sucks.

You can't think whatever you want about this game, but they are doing the right thing and it should be done by EVERy game.

Offline Mode!

Everyone complain about closing online stores and whatnot, but the real issue is not about not being able to buy a game anymore (in physical you can't buy some games anymore either), but to make them accessible to keep playing them.

If you are going to close your store/server/studio/etc. just make the game have a way to be still playable as long as you have it installed. That's it.

At the core there's something good there yeah, like if you strip away all the graphics and just have testing block out graphics instead, it controls and plays pretty well, and even though everyone shoots, all of them are pretty unique in how they traverse and their special abilities.
However these designers are complete hacks and don't realise how to build on that core, this is something crappy designers do over and over, instead of building on the strengths of the core, they figure introducing challenge means stripping away the core, which is a bad idea always since it means you're just punishing the player and not allowing them to play the very game you want them to play.

For instance there are snipers in the game and the game tends to spawn a lot of them, in season one they were really annoying to fight because they'd teleport away if you got a little bit close, they actually changed that so now you can actually get close, however one major issue with them remains, and that is if you get hit the entire core of the game is removed, all your traversal is gone, all your abilities are gone, and you are forced to hop/run around hoping you don't die from the next thing that's gonna hit you; this is an infuriatingly stupid decision on the designers' end.
Likewise they introduced "infused" enemies, which just means regular enemies with some abilities of the JL heroes, the batman infused ones just completely ignore your melee ability, which you need to restore shields in a pinch....another genius decision to strip core abilities for "fake" challenge.

But it doesn't end there, it seems with every season/episode that came, they found more ways to punish players, like just spawning some kind of hazard, like lightning or ice right on top of you, so you can't even stand still, which is hilarious because this season introduced a gear piece that has buffs that requires you to stand still, but you'll never be able to do that in endgame so it's completely worthless.
I mention endgame because these things are never as bad during regular play/story, but the endgame exposes how bad all these decisions are.

Avengers did exactly the same thing funny enough, the core of avengers is actually a really excellent brawler, with really nice combo paths and combat feel, but then every update they just introduced more and more shit to make it harder to actually play, like stupid sonic enemies that completely obscure your screen so you can't see shit...
Whenever I see stuff like that it's clear to me they've got a bunch of designer who have no idea how to properly approach "play" and aren't there because of merit, but simply because of knowing the right people.
