This ep was definitely great. I still think Sword of Destiny was the best of the season though.

:lol

My favorite part of that one, is when he'as on the Segway, and he goes "I can't do my illusions... I need YOU to sign up for me!" and when he says "you" he motions towards Michael WITH the Segway. :lol

Steve Holt was the guy who ran for class president two weeks ago, right?

And he's Gob's son...and Maeby liked him in the first season...

Am I just that slow?

I love Michael's reaction before that part "Looks like you're hunting for dragons....in the future." Mostly because I thought of the line right before Michael said it. Gob's the best.

Michael: Well, don’t you think they’re a bit too young?

Pastor Veal: Oh, we got serious around his age.

Michael: Well, who could blame you? You got to lock that down.

Lucille: They’re not going to let you in at the country club with that.

Buster: (As Franklin.) I don’t want no part of your tight-ass country-club, you freak bitch!

Great new video btw

:lol that's what I'm looking for.... lol..

and the whole "you gotta lock that down" gag was priceless.

"Well who could blame you. You gotta lock that down."

My wife, who finds the show funny but rarely lol funny, lol'ed at that line.

Awesome episode. :)

I swear I am taking hostages if Fox cancels this show. What does Murdoch hold sacred besides George Bush and money?

:lol

GOB: Steve Holt .... is a BASTARD ... but what else don't we know?

::Swastika signs and other crazy shit flash on the screen::

:lol

That video was great

Great episode, loved LOVED the Mary Poppins umbrella bit.
I seriously could not stop laughing after that bit. Everytime I think of it, I still crack up, too. So funny.

Yeah, Michael Cera is really great with the facial expressions.

This was my favorite part of the episode!

One of the images that flashed was the Banana Grabber. I got a kick out of it.

I only caught Oscar's "shut up" reply to Michael's "shut up" the second time I watched it.

And yeah, I watched it over again right away after I recorded it. I so had to see the umbrella scene over again. I joked that it was the biggest bump that Sunday night (since Wrestlemania was on the same night).

Anyone notice that the editing was a tad different from the getarrested.com preview, and the airing of the show? In the season 1 DVD the editors mention that with the many cameras, there are hundreds of funny ways to show each conversation, and I liked the one that aired because it focused a bit more on the puppet's face...I think it's cool to see previews on the getarrested site, that aren't exactly what we'll see on the show.

Oh and I like Franklin's theme song. The guy who does the music does a good job.

Definatly one of the best episodes this season. The Mary Poppins umbrella scene stole the show. The way Tobias smashed right through the table was hillarious.

Oscar: "Maybe you can point out to your mother that your father hasn't arrived yet"
Buster: "Mmmmmm"
Buster: "So... My fathers not here!" *Looks straight at Lucille*
Oscar: *Cue hopefull piano music* "Maybe he is?" :lol

I love the way Lucille rolls her eyes and then you see Buster do the same. :lol

That new clip was great. You hardly ever see all four of them together in one scene. One of the things they haven't really touched on yet is the relationship between Lindsay and Buster. I wonder what crazy shit the writers could have them do.

At times the previews seem as they are still in the phases of editing because often times the narrator isn't Ron Howard's voice but someone else (which always sounds really strange and isn't delivered as well).

I always thought this show was pretty neat, but never got some of the jokes (cause I hadn't watched the show enough). Well I picked up Season 1 on DVD and watched every episode, my god I'm totally blown away. By far the funniest show I've ever seen, and now rewatching S2 episodes makes them even more funnier as I know the backstories and know the characters quirks better. Just an all around brilliant show.

If anyone hasn't really jumped on the bandwagon, but is intrigued by the recent episodes, I would highly recommend picking up S1 on DVD. It's just amazing, and will make you appreciate the show all the more.

the DVD is a whole whopping $30 for season one... possibly the single best deal on DVD.

I have actually borrowed the DVD out to two friends now who immediately went out afterwards and bought the set for themselves and now watch the show weekly.

I swear, if fox would actually market this show, and as importantly market the first season set, they would have a bonafide ratings hit on their hands. well, as bonafide as you can get up against desparate housewives (which I also enjoy).

:lol They always play that funny music whenever Oscar hints that he's Buster's dad.

Malcolm in the Middle just got renewed. It has worse ratings than AD, so maybe there is hope?
But if Malcolm in the Middle has worse ratings than Arrested Development and is terrible, how can it be renewed and Arrested Development not?

If that happens I'll cry. That'll show Fox.

Cheaper to produce.

Different costs and profit margins? The consideration of other revenue sources, like syndication, home video, licensed products, etc.

I'm not saying Malcolm is necessarily more profitable, but there is more to it than just ratings.

It's not on against Desperate Housewives. AD comes on at 8:30pm, while Desperate Housewives is on at 9pm. It airs against Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.

P.S. - Watch Arrested Development, you jerks!

exactly. Malcolm only has 6 principle actors, is already syndicated, and even if the ratings are worse, if fox can sell ad space equal to malcolm's costs (with only 6 principle actors), fox wins.

AD on the other hand has 9 principle actors, isn't anywhere near syndication (less than 2 full seasons. guaranteed syndication is 100 episodes), and because king of the hill and malcolm these days probably couldn't stand a chance in after 8pm, they are left with having to have it either at 8:30pm (against Home Edition) or in the 9pm area against Desperate Housewives.

There are a few options left for fox though, that I'm sure if I am looking at they have looked at also. First advertise more heavily. second, they could stick it on a different night, especially even a night following or preceding American Idol. third, and most drastic but possibly the best thing, is to move it to FX. Cable shows in many instances these days are garnering as high, if not higher, ratings than many broadcast shows. This would allow the show to continue to be accessible, maybe even allow it to be a little more risque, and aty the same time keep it on and allow it to keep winning emmys.

well, you are only kind of right. it was originally on against DH this year.. though you are right in that that lasted for all of until hiatus, after which fox brought it back against the second half of home edition.

So I'm rewatching the HD feed and I notice that during the 'Next time' segment with Buster, you can see a cameraman and his camera on the right side of the screen. I'm pretty surprised they made that mistake, since they've done far more complicated shots with multiple cameras and done it flawlessly.

They probably did it for the fans to catch.
