Heh, it took me a while to realize that "Perhaps if you're willing to lose twenty pounds" was a request for a bribe, even with the narrator's help.

That episodes was just too frenetic. It's like they were forced to squeeze three episodes' content into one and cut out a lot of stuff (George Michael and Maebe, Maebe and STEVE HOLT!, Kitty, etc.) in the process.
The whole first five minutes felt like a summary of TWO previous episodes, not just one. I mean, what the hell sense does it make that George Bluth gets house arrest? What the fuck happened to Oscar? Does Steve Holt know that Gob is his father?

It really feels like they skipped an episode.

Oh man.. Oscar!

Yeah, it just doesn't seem right after the great pacing of the first two seasons.

I finally got around to watching last nights ep. It was fucking hilarious seeing all of the family member's different chicken dances! I still think Gob's is the best! And it always makes my day when an episode features Gob yelling, "OH COME ON!"

Tobias had a ton of awesome lines like always.

:lol @ "For British eyes only."

One thing I'm confused about. Now that George Sr. is on house arrest... What the hell is going on with Oscar?

I think he knew from the start. He was shown a picture of his father (Gob) last season, which prompted him to say, "Is that what is going to happen to my hair?" I think he played along with Gob to spend time with him. And Steve Holt keeps showing up all over the place for Gob. When Gob hides from him in his "magic" cage, and then when Gob is performing his magic trick at the court house.

This makes the show even funnier, reading other people talking about it. I missed a couple of those jokes. :lol

And yeah, the ratings are down from last year. Fox already cancelled head cases, so they cant cancel this....how much filler can they have?

"Has anyone in this family ever SEEN a chicken?"

Yeah, I figured that was why especially the season finale felt so fast, but even the 2 we've had this season seemed to throw in a LOT of stuff, very fast.

Anyways, I liked the Brad Garrett joke too. :)
a little help, what was the Brad Garrett joke? This is my first season actually watching the show (caught all the re-runs over the summer) so keeping up with the jokes is still a little difficult.

loved wee britain, that was great - especially the bribe. Why did Charlize Theron lose her accent after the first scene though? I guess the "retarded" thing would work for that though.

Brad Garrett beat Jeffrey Tambor for Best Supporting Actor at the Emmys.

I gathered that much (:p) I was just wondering what the joke was in the show about said loss at the Emmys.
Michael thought that his dad hired the British people to harass him. George Senior denied it and Michael said something like "That's a great performance, dad. You're a regular Brad Garrett."

The joke was "It's a wonderful performance dad, you're a regular Brad Garrett."

Finally saw it.

It was the best ep in a long time IMO!

Every single god-damn line was hilarious!

It was non stop laughter for me. I went a bit crazy when Tobias screamed after the guy tried combing his hair, David Cross kicks ass that scream was crazy and his expression was priceless.

"You guys do go for the jugular"

Seriously...EVERY SINGLE LINE was hilarious...a quotable even. Each situation...from Michael's attempted "Hello" with Rita, to Micheal's own chicken call that was a half yell which impressed Lindsay.

I dunno...while some people didn't really like it, I thought it was one of the best episodes ever. It did feel rushed, but it was jam packed with gold.

Wow. I just found out from the local paper that one of the writers of the show (Jim Vallely, who won an Emmy) was from, and graduated from high school, at the next town over from where I live in Jersey (not even a 1 minute car ride). Small world!

Just rewatched the epsiode. Funny the first time, much funnier the second time.

Best line was, the Housekeeper, "Mr Gay is bleeding, Mr Gay". I missed it the first time because of the shock of Tobias's head, but man. Her reaction was priceless, as well as GOB's and George Sr.'s.

Charlize Theron is hot.

This episode was great.. I was laughing from start to finish. Seeing all of the family members own chicken dance made the episode alone.

Think we'll ever get to see Michael doing a chicken dance? ):

I want to see Buster's version.

What is there to "get" about an itsy bitsy IRA?
--------------------------------------------------
What do you guys think they would have done if Tambor won the emmy? I'm sure they filmed a scene for every nominee.
EDIT: \/\/\/ Haha, that's actually pretty good.

I'm sure if he won it would something to the effect of "It's a wonderful performance dad, you deserve an emmy." or "It's a wonderful performance dad, Brad Garret couldn't do better." or whatever actor they thought would be funniest.

:lol

Gob is the man.

I haven't rewatched AD since it aired, but I have it on my PSP now in AVC format. :P

I will try to see if I can dig out most of the jokes. :p

The President of Fox is a huge fan of the show and will more than likely let it run the rest of the season.

Keep dreaming - there is only so long an exec will keep a personal favorite around if it's not making money. Sorry, but I don't see even this season finishing, which only makes me more depressed as each episode ends.

Well this is a terrible way to end work on a Friday.

Fox on moving the show from Sunday to Monday: "I've made a huge tiny mistake"

:(

holy crap and the Office isn't doing well either. Just when TV looks to be getting better, it all goes down to shit. At least the good news is Joey is bombing!
The Office just got its order expanded, so I guess it's not doing that badly.

Season 1 - Amazon.com Sales Rank: #78 in DVD
Season 2 - Amazon.com Sales Rank: #11 in DVD

Huh... It probably (hopefully) doesn't mean much, but looking on tvguide.com for Monday 10/10, it lists a repeat episode of Prison Break at the time Arrested Development would normally be shown........

What the hell? Why the hell would they bring it back only to cancel it?

It was all but dead 5 months ago...there is NO reason to bring it back only to cancel it. They know they have a very small audience, if they wanted more viewers, they could friggin' do something about it with advertisement.

Jesus...terrible.

Smart move by FOX, especially when AD Season 2 DVD's come out on 10/11. [/sarcasm]

Holy shit is that depressing news. :(

I guess I'll pray for a miracle, and lament the fact that today at my new job I found out that *5* people in my office all watch AD too. A couple of the guys have only watched about a dozen eps in all, they both missed almost all of season 1 and watched most of season 2 based on office buzz. But I was stunned when one guy mentioned AD and I immediately asked if he watched, only to find out that every single person there said they watched it too. WHY AREN'T WE ALL FUCKING NEILSON FAMILIES!

Me and one of the coworkers who's been a die-hard fan since the premiere spent a half hour remembering favourite gags. Bah, I refuse to even think about it probably being cancelled (again); I kept the faith all last year basically because I refused to believe that every show I love would get cancelled before it's time and I have no choice but to maintain my stubborn believe it'll last.
