Could someone give me a VERY quick and VERY brief summary of what happened the first few seasons? I hate starting to watch shows that are into their third season or whatever and not quite understanding what's going on.
Do yourself a favor and find a cheap copy of Season 1 and buy it. I've told about a good half dozen people to do so and I have yet to be returned with bad news...

It's not really a show that has an involved plotline. The plots more a setup for the character based humour. Basically, there's the Bluth's, a rich property-development family. Then the dad gets arrested for fraud or something, and the sensible son takes over to try and rebuild the shattered businness. But the rest of his family are completely nuts/spoiled/both and thus hilarity ensues.
You should love it just because the dad's called George, the sons called Michael and the grandson's called George Michael. Well there are lots of other reasons to like it, but that's my favourite.

One last question, with the NEXT TIME ON ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT stuff, are those clips actually from the next episode, or just used as a way to tie up everything in the current episode?
