Chase is an honest to goodness psychopath. He's a great character and Josh Segarra is just killing it (pun!) in the role.
The blood on Chase's shirt during the last scene was from his gunshot wound re-opening, right?
The Whistle man, so good. If they drop Anatoly's body this season I'm gonna be pissed, I hope he and Oliver can make up, I just don't want my man dead
Best part from the review:
"Sorry, random Bratva guy who jumped up on the lowest ledge of that shelf to attack Oliver: That kind of parkour might fly back in Russia, but it isnt going to impress anyone in the jumpy house that Roy Harper built."
I hope it leads to Bratva taking to Kovar as a big bad next year.Chase wasn't even fazed with his identity being revealed. This guy was just whistling all happy without a care in the world.
Once again, another fantastic episode. Diggle really stole the show with his hope in Oliver. It's sad seeing Ollie and Anatoly become bitter enemies. I wonder if Adrian will get the Bratva to work with him.
Real Artemis?Hope next season we get the real Artemis
Real Artemis?
Though I really want Cheshire so Young Justice Artemis wouldn't hurt.
That is a good review and analysis independent of the score it was given.
18/18 easy.
Man, I am SO FUCKING GLAD they didn't waste Adrian Chase's actor on Vigilante. Prometheus was a pretty good villain before the reveal, but dude has taken it to a whole 'nother level.
Also his theme is godlike. Unsettling as hell.

Actually, RHatO Artemis would fit in pretty well here. They'd get to expand the 'verse to include Themyscira, maybe segue to an appearance by Jason himself.
I have wanted to suggest her for a CW show but I think the rights to the Amazons are completely screwed.

Anatoly was in Season 2 flashbacks? I forgot all about him.
We've seen this entire season before.Im seeing a lot of dissenting opinions on the episode complaining about how its just another morality play for Oliver and that we've seen all this before...
Today's Bratva flashbacks were great. The AV Club review summarized why I liked them pretty nicely. Anatoly is great, he has a longer history than anyone with Killer Ollie currently on the show and you can feel it.
Yeah I was talking about YJ Artemis with Cheshire, and Sportsmaster.Real Artemis?

Pretty sure a pen when thrown cannot puncture an eye, not enough weight in it.

I just saw the checkmate episode and I don't get it. The "secret" was so bad, hasn't this been painfully obvious for years?
So - which Springsteen song or album do you guys think will be the title for this season's penultimate episode?
EDIT - never mind. It's already known -Missing
16, haven't seen any more. If that invalidates my opinion due to new stuff happening, maybe. I just thought the "twist" and "secret" Oliver confessed was dumb as it was the most non-secret of the show imo. It could practically be the show's subtitle, Arrow:Are you talking about episode 16 "Checkmate" or episode 17 "Kapiushon"

That's episode 17.
And the secret isn't shocking to the audience, it's new to Oliver. The whole point he's been in denial for years.
This.
He's been running from that fact for years and is called on it. It hits him as hard as the inevitable Flash scene where he realises he likes fucking up the timeline.
Nah, it was a crap moment and a waste of an episode. Audience gained nothing from it. Is like spending an entire episode to tell us Felicity likes computers.Meh, I dunno, feels like the whole team has known this truth for some time now, and I didn't find it very interesting so far. But that's just me
