Many will probably look at this like PoP:WW's generic angsty rage makeover, but I am all for whatever Oddworld Inhabitants dishes out, and I really doubt they have a single ounce of marketing guy bullshit accompanying any of their motives or direction with their games. They are one of the few developers out there still doing so, and I really, really respect them for that. For that matter, I think Lorne Lanning is highly underrated as well. No, he may not reinvent the world of gaming, but he has an extremely creative and unique vision that he doesn't sacrifice to appease the lowest common denominator, which is another thing I respect very much, and he seems like a really cool guy. OI is the kind of developer I would really love seeing Sega pick up, because OI really embodies that original, creative, unique vision that is what I loved Sega so much for, and hope they regain next gen.
 
Hmpf.....I figured it was some sort of April fools joke, I mean.....isnt he some sort of sheepherder and he uses his angry flock to put the smack down on evildoers?

I totally agree with everything you say there other than the Sega part.
I am a slave to Oddworld Inhabitants. I have loved every minute that I have played of their games. I am currently going through the first one and I have the second one on the way. I find the characters and the worlds that they have created to be some of the best in video games. I can't wait for the next game. Bring on the badass sheep herder.


And.... I want that book so bad. So bad.
 
It's called Oddworld: Fangus, for those of you who didn't know. EA isn't handeling, instead Majesco is...And it's going to be more mature than previous Oddworld titles.

How big is it (# of pages)? And do you know of any other sites that sell it? I haven't been able to find it in Canada and I'm just looking the best deal.

I ordered it from HERE. The price is in AUD. I ordered the hard cover version and after shipping and converting to U.S. dollars it cost me about $64. You can save more money by ordering the soft cover version. It may not be the "best" deal but I haven't really found many places to compare. About the # of pages; I don't recall how many but the book is pretty thick and has at least a couple hundred pages of pure artwork.

Didn't OI mention back in the days of Abe that they were always planning to use different genres with this series for diversity's sake?

Yeah and they said it was gonna be a 5 games series. So I'm not sure if they consider this game and Strangers Wrath as part of the "series". I would really like to see more of the Abe games.
