Wait, I don’t understand this. All of Bush’s cabinet members will resign at the end of his term (it’s tradition). Bush will then reappoint whoever he sees fit. This isn’t a rumor, it’s a fact. The Guiliani part is the rumor.

edit: yes, the cabinet resigns and is re-appointed. this doesn't have anything to do with the rumors from what i've heard. these (both rummy and ashcroft) are reportedly real resignations.

edit2: also, rumor is that Michael Powell wants out of the FCC. dunno how much truth there is to that though.

I hope this is true. Also I was watching Fox News (it was what was on the TV at the gym) about 2 hours ago, and I guess there are rumors that Rumsfield will "step down." What I found interesting about this rumor was they were talking like Powell might replace him as Secretary of Defense.

I hope this is true. Also I was watching Fox News (it was what was on the TV at the gym) about 2 hours ago, and I guess there are rumors that Rumsfield will "step down." What I found interesting about this rumor was they were talking like Powell might replace him as Secretary of Defense.

That might suit him better than secretary of state which appears to be making him uncomfortable and consistently at odds with the administration.
