Assassin's Creed Shadows Length Between 40 and 80 Hours

Expecting anything beyond mid-tier, standard Assassin's Creed is just wishful thinking

I don't know about "mid-tier" but "standard Assassin's Creed" is what I want.

Right now, it's just the usual ebb and flow of innovation. The gaming industry has been stuck in a rut like this at least four times, Nintendo saved us from the E.T kerfuffle, slogged through the rough transition from 2D to 3D, then hit the inevitable stagnation of open-world design, followed by sequel fatigue and the live-service plague.

And now? We're in what I'd like to call the 'LET'S PLAY IT SAFE BECAUSE GAMERS HAVE TURNED INTO A BUNCH OF BITCH ASSES' era."

I generally enjoy Assassins Creed gameplay. The early games are still some of my favorites. I know this is gonna be half off in two months so I may hold off on playing it, but I will if it's good.

Thank fucking god. Perfect length for an open world game.

Everything I hear about this game makes it sound like it's going to potentially be the best in the series from a gameplay POV. Unfortunately, this marketing team is always super good at hyping up the next AC, which often turns out to be mid. Every once in a while though, they hit gold like Black Flag and Origins. We'll see the truth at launch I guess.

So far, my biggest worry is the writing. The previews didn't impress there. It might be more palatable in Japanese though, which is how I'm planning to play.

Here's my review.

Absolutely unacceptable. I can already tell it's a massive disappointment. First, the graphics? Haven't seen them in-game yet, but I know they should be better. The story? I'm sure Ubisoft ruined it. And don't even get me started on the gameplay, I can just feel in my soul that it's clunky , repetitive & I'll climb a historically inaccurate pagoda only to reveal 500 icons on my map and immediately regret my purchase.

Also, why is the protagonist not exactly how I personally imagined them? Huge mistake. Uninstalling immediately (once I install it first).

0/10 Worst game I've never played!!
Ubisoft is gonna sue your ass for breaking the review embargo.
