Nice safe 80%ish from the reviewers. Give or take a couple of percent.
Any review's that comes out with this should we take 5% off the score they give? Or more?Does anyone actually think reviews of this game will be honest? It's all going to be "Ubisoft had so much courage to tell the stunning true story of the black samurai Yasuke"
After Dragon Age: The Veilguard, who's ever going to take "professional" game "reviewers" seriously ever again?
I cringe at the thought of being in the heads of Ubi and imagining what lessons they learned or didn't learn. And this has been their largest issue in the past 2 generations that they seem to keep doubling down on. 80 hours. 100 hours. 200 hours. DLC making it more. Maps filled with hundreds of icons that overwhelm and overload the player. It’s like they can’t help themselves but continue to bloat and bloat and bloat their big franchise games because they feel that every game they make needs to be a “forever game” that should take you weeks, months, or more to finish.
And these aren’t even MMOs, which I would be more forgiving of if they were because then I could talk to and interact with other people. Most of their huge map games don’t contain good enough social features or no social features at all, so they feel even more empty and bloated because of that.
If this AC game might fail in sales, the wrong lessons are going to be learned from that failure and they will instead make a narratively ‘safe’ entry next, and then they’ll double down harder with 250 hours of repeated content because they think you’ll want even more to grind. But at least the safe narrative will be a nice pat on the back for themselves as they tell everyone ‘we have gone back to the basics with our story’.

People call me a conspiracy theorist (A term coined by the CIA) when I say that every single piece of "Mainstream Media" you consume is pre-curated from the same pipeline; regardless of your political spectrum....Then you see shit like this and people cover their eyes and ears.Does anyone actually think reviews of this game will be honest? Those gamers that rate it low only base on Yasuke skin and "they disrespected muh Japanese culture hur dur" are in the same bucket with the journalist who praise the game on the courage of putting a black man in Japan as MC.games "journalists" will most likely give it an 80-84 average just because they went with Yasuke. I feel gamers won't be as generous though. Gamers who have been waiting almost 2 decades for an AC set in Japan won't be happy to see how they disrespected Japanese culture with so many inaccuracies and by adding Chinese elements as if the two cultures were interchangeable.
The only way to truly tell would be to come back in 6 months, after the 10s vs 1s rating war ends.games "journalists" will most likely give it an 80-84 average just because they went with Yasuke. I feel gamers won't be as generous though.
That "document" is obviously silly fake, but you can't deny that tons of reviews used exactly same talking points praising this game.bruh xd
This is like the fakest shit ever. It "leaked" after the reviews came out, you can see the cursor in the upper left corner of the doc, which means it's editable lol, nobody would share a legal document like that. LSM as company doesn't accept review copies, this was accepted by MrMattyPlays YT channel, not LSM (which is not registered "under Patreon" lmao, it's CLS LLC, a business entity registered in the state of Virgina), San Francisco is spelled wrong... like, brother, what are we doing here.

Veilguard was dogshit, the reviews were 100% coordinated and scores were juiced, but this document was proven fake the minute it released.People call me a conspiracy theorist (A term coined by the CIA) when I say that every single piece of "Mainstream Media" you consume is pre-curated from the same pipeline; regardless of your political spectrum....Then you see shit like this and people cover their eyes and ears.

I'll adjust the post, thanks.Veilguard was dogshit, the reviews were 100% coordinated and scores were juiced, but this document was proven fake the minute it released.
You can see by them releasing on Steam without Ubisoft Connect that they are trying to stack it as much in their favour as possible.games "journalists" will most likely give it an 80-84 average just because they went with Yasuke. Keep telling yourself that if it makes you feel better. Those gamers that rate it low only base on Yasuke skin and "they disrespected muh Japanese culture hur dur" are in the same bucket with the journalist who praise the game on the courage of putting a black man in Japan as MC.
Both view are stupid and both should focus on the game (game world, quests, side quests, mechanics, progression, combat, weapon variety, animations, graphics, artstyle), not on political stands.
I'm not telling myself anything. I don't fucking care of anything political in a game. Keep that shit out of reviews on both parties: gamers and journalist.Keep telling yourself that if it makes you feel better.
bruh xd

Why? Shadows has better stealth but Combat in ronin look order of magnitude better and i don't really expect shadows to have a better plot or less shitty open world minigame activities. If Rise of the Ronin was a 76, this looks like it should be 86 minimum.
Due to grifters and the drama, I am guessing 78-80.
Odyssey was my fav AC by far. This is fair especially when you look at the time spent. I get shit sometimes for disliking a game in ways(Far Cry 6 is a good one) where I felt it was tragically flawed in many ways. BUT A normal person may play say 4 hours and say...damn I don't get it. But ultimately MAY after 8-10-20. So I totally get that. I do admit I thought its flaws, its sheer issues, were noticeable pretty quickly. Its one reason why I try to cover a game from a newcomers standpoint AND a returning fan. Cause both can be true.
Odyssey I liked a great deal. Probably based on 3 things.
Writing was a bit more enjoyable for me.
Less bugs than I had with Origins( which means gameplay and story can be experienced with out as many bumps and stops and starts)
A unique location I never expected. There is a LOT to say for discovery.
Shit sorry for the double post. I thought I hit the right button.
Karak I know you probably can't talk about it yet, but since it's not related to the story or any major story events and stuff...
Does the Japanese VA have its own lip sync or is it a Japanese VA with English lip sync? The reason I'm asking is cuz they mentioned that we really should play the game with Japanese VA for more authentic and better immersion, but if lip sync is not matching Japanese VA... well, it's not more authentic and better immersion then, is it?
This game is getting 8s and 9s all over the place from reviewers for it's unprecedented amount of diversity and inclusion, its quality could be dogwater for all we know, but it compensates all with "oWnInG tEh cHuDz"![]()
Not people, just meNice to know people have already made up their minds to dismiss good reviews.
Doesn't look like it:
There's a few convos in the video, it looks like hit or miss? Could be the video's fault too.
The only question is, beef stock or chicken stock?Won't be putting too much stock in reviews any more after Avowed.
Yeah, Avowed was pretty mehWon't be putting too much stock in reviews any more after Avowed.
