Downloading the patch right now..
Works fine over here. No apparent difference on performance, but then again I didn't expect one given the patch notes. Going to have to play a little longer to see if the occasional freeze I had is still there.
Did notice this new carriage though, fast travel to Dead Kings DLC whenever that's out. I didn't have it before as I didn't buy the season pass.
Bullshit. I play at high textures and never seen anything like the screenshot above.Anything lower than max textures loads mush textures in the distance. Only way to fix: textures higher than "high". There's no middle ground.
I can check the parts next time I play, it's not one specific suit. How did you get that suit? I want it!
It seems to be better at 60 fps but at 30 fps, the responsiveness is noticeably worse for me. Maybe im just imagining it though. Fps does affect movement and responsiveness right?Any way to improve the sluggish controls? Its so unresponsive...

edit: Legendary Brigand Hood, Master Bourgeois Coat, Arno's Master Bracers, Arno's Master Belt, Arno's Master Breeches. Color is Peaceful Tales.
Looks like my internet issues are finally resolved in this patch, can see the GAF group online and join matches. Still glitchy, like every member of the group is listed with my name, but if anyone wants to give some co-op a try soon, I'm Corpekata on Uplay.
As far as I can tell, LOD and pop in appear the same at max settings. A lot of the patch notes involve AI behavior. I'm trying to keep my eye out on that, it's a harder thing to confirm.
Will I have a smoother experience with this or Far Cry 4? Picked up a GTX 970 so I've got the choice of redeeming a code for either one
I'll play. I sent you a friend request. My tag is WRCEvoX.
What time zone are you in? Got a headset?
i5 2500K
GTX 680 2GB SLI
8GB DDR3 RAM
Windows 8.1 x64
I think I should give up with this game altogether. No matter the patch, no matter the graphic options I'm using, no matter whether I'm using SLI or a single GPU, no matter the CPU priority I assign to it... the game stutters like crazy. Every few seconds there's a hiccup. It may be a small, barely noticeable hiccup, or it may be a 1/2-second full lockup. But this shit's unplayable, even if the framerate itself is very stable (it hovers around 60 FPS at Very High settings, goes far above it in Low).
DAI, Lords of the Fallen and Far Cry 4 run flawlessly. AC Parity is the odd man out here.

FC4 is the better game, but it was less smooth than AC Unity for me.
Make sure you arw using the latest SLI profile for the game.
What nvidia graphics driver are you currently on?
Oh and for those of you on tje latest patch, it hasnt broken or made anything worse has it?
Even the main menu is feels laggy and unresponsive if your framerate is around 30s.It seems to be better at 60 fps but at 30 fps, the responsiveness is noticeably worse for me. Maybe im just imagining it though. Fps does affect movement and responsiveness right?

Seems like a bug.
LOD problems aren't sporadic glitches that only appear for some people. They are 100% reproducible and the same for everyone with a copy of the game.
No one is questioning whether the LOD is garbage, I was merely pointing out that the earlier screen being representative of what the game looks like on high is bullshit, because most of the time it doesn't actually look like that. But the question here was whether or not the game produces different results on different hardware ON THE SAME SCENE.
This man speaks the truth.I think the LOD issues have been talked about extensively here. I don't think anyone is denying that it's a problem. It's just the one image used earlier isn't a good representation of the actual problem. The one you linked is more representative.
I had the garbage texture LOD on my 690 with 2GB ram, even on ultra, but it's been just fine on a 970 with 4GB.
mind providing a minimap image for this location? id like to test itProve it with screenshots taken in the same locations.
I've seen AC run on 4 very different hardware configs. They all look exactly the same.
I'd say it's a "bug" if you see something different, since I've yet to see any sort of variation.

On "very high" textures it looks IMMENSELY better. On high, that's what you see.

Where on the map? I, too, have never seen anything remotely this bad.
I'm not with my computer, so I haven't updated Unity yet. I want to ask before I try tomorrow: Has freezing been resolved on SLI based rigs? That came had such bad stuttering and freezing, that I have been unable to play it this entire time. Is it an improvement? Does the hair not freak out anymore when it freezes?

It actually seems to stutter more for me now than prior to the patch (SLI 980's)
Granted, I only played about an hour or so, further testing may be required.
Far Cry 4, no question.
It's a far better game too.

Crossfire still performs like ass on my end. Still getting horrible stuttering and freezing.
Have you tried AFR Friendly?? That performs better for me on my 295x2
Just installed this tonight and have been messing with my settings. The game is definitely gorgeous, but I'm in the camp that is regularly seeing FPS in the low 20s. It's actually quite playable despite this, but I'm hoping the next patch results in fairly significant performance gains. My rig is:
i5 2500K @ 4.5GHz
8GB RAM
7950
Latest Catalyst beta drivers
Maybe I'll try capping the frame rate at 30. How is that even done?
What's funny is that some parts of those buildings are higher detail than others. If you wiggle the camera up and down a bit while standing there you'll see the LOD transition trying to decide what the fuck to do, it seems like the buildings are right on that transition edge.
Would be nice if they added some actual LOD setting in the game. Or bumped up the quality of the lowest lod for stuff. Those have about as many vertices as the map/companion app map does.
What's sad about this, other than the obvious, is that now I probably can't unsee it.
