Assassin's Creed Unity - Review Thread

Seriously this game has been nothing but a scandal-fest. Since the "no females playable cuz r hArd to modeL" to that parity thing and now with those terrible technical issues such as the framerate... Hope Ubisoft learns their lesson. Props to the developers of the game though. Character modeling and graphics are top notch in this game at least.

I'm going to hope that everything else is AC2 levels of quality and that, along with faith that a patch will soon come to fix some of these concerns, it ends up being enough to push it to 76-78ish.

With that said, I wouldn't be surprised to see low seventies with the framerate and technical issues rightfully taking emphasis nor would I be shocked to see most reviewers sugarcoat it and for it to have a low 80s average.

Well I'm glad I got it for free from Bing rewards. Kinda sucks people buying the bundle get one broken game but hey its cheap as hell now

7.8 only a few reviewers will dare to rate it below a 7.5.

Expecting a lot of, "It's a terrible, broken, piece of shit, 7.5/10" style reviews.

Repost from the other thread.

I'll bet IGN will mention some 'minor hiccups' in their review, before giving it 9.3

Guessing a metacritic of 85

I'm guessing 78 Metacritic. Lots of 'yeah performance sucks but the game is good 8/10', couple 'fuck performance game is amazing 10/10' and another few 'game sucks performance sucks 5/10'

I still expect 8s in spite of the bugs and framerate.

I bet 80-85.

Remember how kind reviewers were to AC3.

My guess over 82%.
Ubisoft + AC franchise + reviewers? I don't believe in lower meta scores.

I'm going for a solid 81, because critics can't resist giving The Ubisoft Game a passing grade.

10/10 with minor issue

I really hope this isn't the case if it is as bad as I think.
Reviewers man... Are reviews really THAT important? Destinys reviews weren't that great, still sold a TON. I guess, Marketing and perception is way More important than reviews for a lot of "gamers".
Maybe it's turning into what it's like with movies where some negatively reviewed films are still really popular while you have smaller, less popular works that is adored by critics.

Rated it a Wait for a Sale(or wait for about 1000 bugs patches)

Pro's
Very fun gameplay
The world is immersive as hell
Sound and music are phenomenal
Co-op is a go, and works, but can be played solo
Customization is expansive and enjoyable

Con's
Buggy as hell-Simply can't be described without video
Micro-transactions not needed but still in the game which is odd
Game runs well then poorly with no real indication as to why

Ubisoft busy to pay reviewers right now

From what I've read the game is a technical mess on consoles. Frame-rates ranging from low 20s to high 20s throughout. A muddy, soft image quality. Huge pop in issues as well as glitching all over. That joined with the constant false representation in the advertising (E3 demos, trailers and screenshots all looked pretty decent) and the terrible PR from the publisher over the last few months and it seems like a total cluster-fuck.

UBI need to be called out for this. I really hope the reviewers have the balls to do so and not worry about publisher relations. No idea how bad these issues are and how much they impact gameplay but it seems like a game destined for a low review average across the board.

I think they should have missed Christmas and spent another 6 months polishing things. I'm sick of this ''release it broken and patch it later'' attitude from developers thats becoming a normality this gen.
