Asus ROG G20 PC, their answer to the Alienware X51?

Looks like the Asus ROG G20 is here. I'm guessing this is their 'answer' to the Alienware X51, a popular machine here on NeoGAF for placing a home theater centric PC alongside your consoles for some comfy couch gaming. It's got a nice design.

Looks similar to the PS4 in some ways.

Here's a Overview on YouTube.

Here's the positives I see with this machine:

  • Similar starting price to the X51
  • Comes with game-packet prioritization software
  • Custom case lighting with 3 zones
There's some negatives I see with this machine:

  • Opening it up voids the warranty (the YouTube Video mentions this a number of times, even though they say you can open it up and upgrade, one of the RAM slots is open)
  • Doesn't come with a Nvidia 970/980 at the highest end, even with their reduced power draw, the X51 seems to be able to handle the 970 from what the thread has been saying)
  • I wish the case was something other than red, but that's my nitpick, I'd like it more if it were (or I had the option for) blue
  • Comes with a McAfee trial, when the X51 has no junkware at all. (Another minor nitpick, just uninstall it)

So what do you guys think?

PC hardware fashion sense is truely awful. The nicest looking boxes tend to be quite plain. My wee fat Pheonix is just sitting looking quite proud, not lovely looking but unseen and functional.

This? Well it looks like what it looks like :/

Huh, I just happen to be looking for a desktop dedicated to gaming stuffs, and mainly MMOs. Will keep an eye on this.

"Maybe you're tired and require sleep, but you just slammed another energy drink from a freshly-opened Costco-sized case and like your rapidly-cooling G20 powerhouse, you're just getting started."

Who the hell writes this stuff?

The same people who write hacker/gamer scenes in police TV shows probably.

I will always be a fan of small form factor PCs, but I'm just not so keen on ASUS' design. Just not my taste. I'm sure there are folks that don't care or really like it. Really hope the small form factor push keeps accelerating

I want to meet the person who buys these and hit him with a brick. The case looks good imo, but you can probably buy a used 4770K/780GTX pc that still has warrenty with the money the entry level set costs.(Here where i live)

[insert "some people don't want to build" / "some people want an out of the box solution" / "some people are not so cost averse" arguments here]

Yeah, but i just described an out of the box solution. Hell, you don't even need to overlock by yourself if you don't want to.

This is basically what i did.

Yay another device designed with the "gamer gear" aesthetic. Does it come with Doritos and Dew to complete the experience?

Oh boy! What's the bet that they manufacture six of them every three months and send them to random retailers a'la the ROG Swift?

It looks so scary. :<

I wish so many PC parts wouldn't look so macho and scary. I want a PC that looks pastel and pink and cute. And curvy instead of edgy n' things... like Apple does..

I'm glad I built my computer, it looks much cuter..

Looks hideous to me personally.

I assume it can be layed on its side? Otherwise it won't neatly fit into many home theater setups
