Huh, turns out it's the same character designer for Silent Hope/Frederica

Of course, PS5 is expected, but I'm talking about PS4, lol. Even Kai no Kiseki - Farewell, O Zemuria is releasing there, despite the console being over a decade old already.
Ah, sorry. You were specifically talking about a possible PS4 release. There's still a large install base of active PS4 users in Japan so I think it makes sense for them to do a PS4 release as well for both titles.

Looks like it's coming to all platforms, and for the first time in the Atelier franchise's history, on Xbox. 👀

Also, here's the EN trailer Koei Tecmo uploaded on their YT channel:

Damn didn't realize this was coming to Xbox nice. This is one of the series I've been saying should be on Xbox. I wonder if they will drop Ryza trilogy on there as well.

Wow, looks really interesting. Seems they have actually done something different. Hopefully it is fun and not half baked. I was worried they would do gatcha games only going forward. I just could not get into that last gatcha game.

This new single-player title looks higher budget - and with longer dev time - than past Atelier games so I guess that all that gacha money they've gotten from Atelier Resleriana has been put to good use (thanks, Pantz Pantz 😜).

Not all franchises suffer from the modern 5 to 10 years between releases these days.

Since the PS3, there have been four full trilogies and other games in this franchise.

The games are great. I still need to get to Ryza 3 and a few others.

I only spent $26 before it became too tedious to play anymore. It was fun for a while though, so a fair cost.
That's understandable. I was just teasing you. :messenger_grinning_sweat:

Anyway, I'm glad we're getting a new single-player Atelier game with a cool protag and higher budget/production values.

This team's artist is a master of creating adorable protagonists.
Atelier (I think it's started since Rorona) always has guest illustrators for the characters.
Secret (Ryza): https://x.com/toridamono?lang=en
Mysterious (Sophie, Firis, Lydie & Suelle, Sophie 2): https://x.com/yuugen_99?lang=en and https://twitter.com/noco9999
Dusk (Ayesha, Escha & Logy, Shallie): https://x.com/lleftt
Arland (Rorona, Totori, Meruru, Lulua): https://twitter.com/mellco

The illustrator for Yumia still hasn't been announced. Gust will be holding a livestream for at September 2nd that'll announce the first details. The illustrator will probably be announced there:

I couldn’t tell. Is this going to be a proper turn based combat? I strongly disliked Ryza’s “ATB” or whatever they call it these days. Combat felt super rushed. Either make it full turn or make it full action.

Gust still knows how to do this properly. Look to Blue Reflection for an example. It uses a turn meter but the game pauses when it’s your turn.

Silksong: still MIA after seven years, zero news since forever.

Gust: here’s another upcoming Atelier game, sorry this one may take a little extra dev time.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.

Gust: we apologize that it's been more than twelve months since the last Atelier game, please forgive us

For me thats the worst character design ever in an atelier or gust game period. looks like typical chinese gacha design, urgh.

Otherwise im pleased how the game looks, since it seems to be darker

What Alchemist character would you say this looks so off base from? She would have fit in perfectly in the Ryza series for example.

Ryza was already moving away from the atelier style since it was a reboot, so youre right to say it would kinda fit into ryza. But imo Yumia might as well be the new wuthering waves/tower of fantasy. Theres literally no Atelier DNA in it anymore. And the exploration part + UI they showed in the new trailer looked almost like genshin.

Japanese developers used to chase Final Fantasy and co back then, and nowadays its F2P/Mobile cringe...

The older atelier style will be missed
