Atlus picks up Magna Carta

I thought it sucked personally. I'm not gonna get it unless they really fucking overhauled that thing.

Wow, the #1 game on my list of "God please have someone release this stateside" games is off the list. No clue if the game sucks but the art alone will make me play through it lol. Now i haven't played through Stella Deus yet but apparently the VA is awful in it, if it's as bad as everyone says hopefully Atlus will do a better job for this.

Now, what about War of Genesis 3? That's another Korean PC RPG published by Softmax. I have no idea how the game plays, but we need more games with absolutely stellar soundtracks. :)

Btw, has anyone here played WoG3?

Are you allow to say who was going to publish it before?

i don't think it would be wise, no. =) it's not really important at this point, either.

but this news does appear to be true. so feel free to rejoice. also, i strongly hinted to atlus that the good move would be to get the voice team that did DDS and not the one that did stella deus, and that was met with a "well, of course" kinda response. so there you go.

I confirm this news. I'm glad that Atlus got it.

Definitely. They're one of the companies I wish were bigger, as I enjoy alot of the games they bring over. I wouldn't mind War of Genesis 3 or Depth Fantasia, but, you know, one step at a time.

Can anyone shed any light on what difference Konami selling its Takara shares to Index Corp will make to Atlus, incidentally?

From what I could divine, Atlus is very much tied to Takara in Japan, and Index Corp. is somewhat of an unknown quantity. Index has just started distributing Sega's Animanium middleware in the U.S., too, but I'm not sure if this is coincidental - the Index Corp. press release about grabbing the Takara shares doesn't mention Atlus at all.

Hint to them to keep the theme song please :D

A SE of this game with an artbook would be GODLY.

Has anyone actually played the PS2 Magna Carta? I ask because I have actually played the original PC version of Magna Carta and it *seriously* sucks major amounts of ass. This is coming from a Softmax fan who played both Rhapsody of Zephyr and Tempest. Magna Carta was so unbelievably buggy and the game was pretty generic and bad too. I heard the PS2 version was a completely new game instead of a port though, so is this one actually good?

dunno. bebpo didn't buy it, so nobody on GAF knows if it's any good yet! =P

yeah, i am worried. i've never heard anything but bad things about the PC game, which is a shame, because i was super excited for it (to the point i was hoping it would come out here until i heard about how broken it is.)

still, i like to keep an open mind. after all, this is an entirely different game as far as i'm aware. and maybe the art can fool me into liking it, if it does suck. =P

anyway, we'll have at least some reports from E3 to give a vague idea what it's like.

I could honestly see me paying as much as an extra $30 for an MC artbook by HTK, hmmm come to think of it does he have any artbooks? Guess i'll have to look now heh. Someone make this happen!

I've been stumbling into fan and official art type stuff for this game lately and I gotta say it should be re-named Racka Carta.....

Nosebleed city if it's anything like fanart would have ya believe. @_@

Uh but what kinda game is it? Hack & Slash? RPG? A dreaded mixture of both?

Have you played WoG3? If so, how is it? Heck, I've never even seen a pic, and I don't have a clue how it plays, but I'd like Atlus (or somone) to pick it up for a NA release, because I love the music.

Bleh i might have to order this. Price is kinda steep but it's hardcover and it is 175 pages, would be a great coffee table book. Definitely not anything else would have :D
