Unfortunately, I believe the POTUS can declassify anything at anytime. Not that he puts any consideration into the secrets he reveals but I don't think he violates any law when he blurts out his stupidity.

The leaks are never going to stop unless they tackle the core problem, which is the captain of the ship being a hot mess who always lies. When you have a toxic work environment filled with neo-nazis and children dragged in through nepotism, people are going to talk. I can bet you anything that they aren't even the least bit warm on who's speaking to the press.

I don't believe this was any type of masterful end game or whatever. It seems unlikely they would stage an internal conflict for just this. That false premise to this conclusion here doesn't make sense. This presser is more likely Sessions trying to appease Donald, with the least amount of effort possible, so he can continue doing what he wants as AG without POTUS constantly moaning in his direction.

POTUS can't really leak classified information from what I understand. He's the authority for making classification decisions. It's not illegal for him to do it.

It's fascinating in a way. Donald Trump stumbled his way into a position in which he's (...mostly) immune and shielded from his own stupidity, both by the powers of the presidency and a Republican controlled Congress.

Just a perfect storm of incompetence.

On whistleblowers regarding classified information, which I highly dislike Obama's administration for because that attitude was at odds with his positive view regarding whistleblowers prior to taking office. But this Minute Maid asshole? We are talking about the detestable shit and non-classified things going on with the administration. I don't think they're comparable, even if I also dislike what Obama did.

You realize how dumb this sounds, right? You're acting like Sessions wasn't talking about leaks at every opportunity before this. What you're seeing is someone trying to suck up to keep his job. Fortunately for Sessions, the new Chief of Staff is on his side.

Remember when Rosenstein wrote that useless letter telling everyone not to trust leaks coming from a foreign source? This is the same thing. Sessions is doing the same thing here that Rowdy Rose did back then, that is to shut up Trump and get him off his back. Trump must be constantly whining about leaks and everyone is sick of hearing about it.

Bottom line right here. Respect is earned through buy-in, trust, and an identifiable vision.
That is the surefire path to ensuring this sort of thing doesn't happen.

Republicans and the GOP only seem to understand respect through fear and intimidation which will not function beyond roping in the misinformed masses. What does anyone working under this administration have to gain by staying domicile and goose-stepping along with this complete nonsense they loathe to witness?
