The fact that this man supposedly has a bad memory should be enough to show he's not fit to be the AG. I'm sure as hell wouldn't want an attorney that has trouble remembering shit.

I hired a lawyer once (reckless driving); met him 3 times.. each time he introduced himself as if we were first meeting and had to read whatever his paralegals prepared for him for like 2 minutes before saying a word about the case to me.

"I had been called a surrogate for Donald Trump", says the guy wearing the tacky trucker hat, speaking at rallies with people screaming "trump that bitch".

Classic legalese bullshit. "I don't remember," "I don't recall," "I believe so," "What I understood at the time," etc.

Utter nonsense.

Resignation should be step 1.

He's an attorney and understands perjury is on the table.

What's surprising is how there was no attempt to mask the intent to defend against that here for PR and all.

I seriously can't believe he is confessing and not resigning. Didn't see that combo being the go to play, but should not be surprised.

The best thing that could possibly happen is one of the three staffers present spills the beans on what they talked about.

He also made it a point to say he had no intention to misead....intention of course is key in a perjury charge

lol I missed the ending and I'm so confused, some people in the other thread saying nothing will happen and people in this thread saying he totally fucked up.

He talked to the ambassador about Ukraine but can't remember the specifics. No wonder, the specifics would likely prove the dossier to be 100% accurate in terms of the oil shares and would sink Trump's ship faster than a nuclear tipped torpedo.

September was the month congressional committees were briefed re Russian election hacking. Sessions met with Kislyak privately in September.

Hmmm

I mean he was defending against a perjury charge, so that's something. But is the standard we really want for the Attorney General to be a guy who lied to Congress but didn't perjury himself.

So, what happens now?
In a well functioning legal system, threat of purjury charge is enough to flip him to
rat on the campaign.

Here? More calls for a real investigation, maybe a couple more house Republicans succeed in locating their shame.

I still have no faith in an investigation if it's now just being lead by his deputy or whatever. The only people who are going to save us are the leakers and spies.

MSNBC already saying this calms things down nothing more to see move on move on.

I found it a little odd that he said he met with the Russian ambassador but wasn't part of the campaign, then ended the conference saying he should have responded to Sen. Franken during the confirmation hearings in the affirmative that he did meet with Russian diplomats, sprinting away from the podium as he finished the sentence that essentially was an admission to perjury and in direct conflict with what he said near minutes before.
