Both of them retired after this. Yoshiko quit wrestling and Yasukawa tried to come back, but suffered permanent injuries during this and had to retire.

No one knows the actual truth.
My assumption is that because they go back to actual wrestling in the middle of the match there was some shoot fighting agreed upon beforehand. But Yasukawa threw the first punch hard and it might have been harder than Yoshiko assumed beforehand so it pissed her off and they went full on shoot.
Or Yoshiko could just be insane.

I watched this yesterday, and I could believe what I saw. The ref clearly was hold back Yoshiko. Hell not even Yoshiko's squad tried to stop her. One of Yasukawa's team mates got into it.

Act Yasukawa has Graves' Disease and had just had surgery on the eye that Yoshiko deliberately targeted.
Act retired late last year due to doctors' advice. Yoshiko was suspended then supposedly retired, but walked out of her retirement ceremony. She now wrestles for Seadlinnng. How anyone can employ her amazes me.
I can't keep track of these feuds !

Smackdown was good tonight, and it was much needed after the shit RAW gave us the night before. My highlight of the night goes to #WardrobeMalfunction, I'm really digging everything they are doing with Eva's character right now. She's improved her persona and mic' game big time, she's no Dusty Rhodes or anything, but it's coming across as more natural. Hopefully she can make some strides on her ring work for when she actually wrestles, I'm not expecting much though.

A shitty indy PPV from 1999. The main event is Jake Roberts vs. Jim Neidhart. Roberts is so drunk, he can't work and starts jerking off his snake in the ring. They sent King Kong Bundy and Yokozuna out there to make it a tag match because of Jake.

Back in 2003-2004 or so, before a match, WWE would have the vs. screen with the wrestlers doing live poses, rather than just a static image of them. I've just recalled, for no reason whatsoever, how INFURIATINGLY ANNOYING Shawn Michaels' one was. He sort of pretended to punch himself in the chin, and then put on the smuggest face he possibly could.
I can't find a gif or video of it, but count yourselves lucky for that.
