August Wrasslin' |OT| Make a.. make a good...uh...a good wrestling thread

It's amazing that it took Roman pissing hot to put him where he should've been two years ago, if they had and built him up from there he'd probably been in a better position with crowds today, well of some character evolution came with it and he still could've used that heel turn.

Can't really tell, but what was everyones overall feeling with the opening of Raw? Wreddit seems filled with people who loved it and a bunch saying "it was so cute!" with how Enzo & Sasha went back and forth. Anyone who disliked it is being called pessimistic and wont like anything the WWE does.

Personally I felt it was 50/50. It had some good moments in there, but overall ran on way too long. It also didn't help the actual match kind of sucked with a lot of sloppiness going around.

I liked it a lot. Men & women interacting, people on different parts of the card interacting. It was something they should do more so the other feuds don't get too stale. Don't ever criticize Enzo, lest you want people telling you that you hate fun or something.

I don't understand why Reigns is a face still. It actually makes no sense; the crowd is going to cheer the guy saying "FUCK THE UNITED STATES" over the alleged babyface.

I mean, it at least made sense he was a babyface when he was being pushed as face of the company. But that no longer exists.

Can't you already picture the Ziggler Ambrose match?

Plenty of no selling combined with overselling that even Chikara fans will think is too much.

JBL will be screaming about how Wacky everything is.

The finish will either be Ziggler DQing Ambrose or a Ziggler rollup and he wins dirty.

Match won't end summerslam because thats saved for Steph's new belt that features her book on it.

Overall it was a good segment. Jericho and Charlotte were killing it

The Sasha/Enzo stuff was a bit awkward but as previously stated, it's cool to have wrestlers aware of other people in the locker room

They have so much merch, ads and promotional material that market Reigns as a face that the suits in marketing probably are telling Vince that Roman can't turn at this point.

Roman will either be champ by Survivor series or he will be out of the company once the WWE realize that Rock probably won't ever work another match again.

It's going to open Summerslam and be given 20 minutes, and Cesaro won't even be on the card. I don't know what's more disgraceful

I don't know, but for me sometimes looks like the crowds are always booing Rusev and not only when he's talking shit about USA or the [LOCAL SPORTS TEAM], just like it happens with Seth or Owens
So maybe Reigns has a chance to get some cheers with a win

And this is 2015 all over again. After losing at Mania he was put on the midcard for sometime until getting the belt, and only because Seth got hurt.
So he isn't the face of the company...now. Just wait until next year Rumble

HOLY SHIT SPOILERS FOR TONIGHT

WWE will follow up on the end of last night's Raw tonight on Smackdown as both Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman are at the taping in Nashville, TN. It makes sense there will be some form of angle to follow up on Randy Orton invading Raw and catching Lesnar with an RKO out of nowhere last night as they build to Orton vs. Lesnar at Summerslam.

Brian "Curt Hawkins" Myers is also backstage at the taping and is expected to make his WWE return tonight. Myers was under contract from 2006-2014

Those do not seem like particularly holy shit spoilers.

I still think Cesaro will be on the card but I agree that that match won't get the main event.

Main event will go to Rollins and Finn because both are HHH pet projects and so Steph can come out with a new belt then go on the Today show on Monday to promote her book with clips of her holding a new tittle that she can take credit for naming.

If they really wanted to do something cool have Sasha and Charlotte end the PPV.

Its in the right venue to do it.

Harley's great when written like the sympathetic anti-villain she is but when she's a borderline anti-hero is when I'm completely lost and just can't care.

Also it's kind of amazing that last night Jericho and Charlotte managed to out-talk Sasha and Enzo. Those two were gold last night, like Jericho was some proud honorary uncle, especially when he covered her ears so she wouldn't hear the crowd booing.

I can't get over the ref handing Charlotte the women's belt either.

Saw "Harley" a bunch of times and thought that perhaps WrassleGAF had decided to get some good taste, but nope, it's comic books and shit :p

Here's some GIFs of the only Harley that matters being solid as fuck;

TONIGHT ON SMACKDOWN!

Who will Zack Ryder choose? Mojo to become the Hype Bros? OR Reunite with his old pal Curt to become the Major Bros? Find out tonight on Smackdonwn!

I'm on the fence with the whole new belts thing. On one hand, yeah it seems like too many belts which would lower the value but on the other, you can't expect Smackdown to just have its women and tag-team division to just feud all of the time. They need something to chase.

So, what exactly does happen to Cesaro? Mick said whoever won between him and Sheamus would get a title match and he well, won. What title is he allowed to go for? Are they gonna stick him on the US after Summerslam or could he actually go for the Universal Championship?

Has anyone talked about how fucking HUGE Strowman has gotten.

Like he's always been enormous but now he's gotten cut. He looks utterly terrifying.

I've been listening to a lot of Bruce Springsteen for a week or so. So if there are any fans...

Fave Five: Springsteen Edition!

Growin' Up
New York City Serenade
The Promised Land
Atlantic City
I'm on Fire

There are a dozen others that could be on that list, though. And I imagine it will look completely different after I digest the music more and inevitably revisit it in six to twelve months.

A small sampling of the mass praise

Hollywood Reporter also calls her the best, while at the same time saying Leto sucks (no shock). Again, only a little bit of what's out there amidst the many reviews

To the surprise of no one, that model turned actress they have as the villain is apparently awful, both in writing and acting.

Leto's Joker being there for like, 9 minutes of the film after the months and months of stories about his role is hilarious, though. Like, why not just have him as the villain instead?

Just finished catching up on RAW. Great ending. Randy looking motivated for the first time since Is started watching wrestling again in 2013. The dude definitely seems revitalized with this feud. Also probably helps that he seems like he's in a good place in his personal life.

Even if the RAW wasn't incredible like last week's show, it was still very decent. The main thing that stands out is that the booking and writing is considerably more consistent than it was prior the this reset for RAW. Not the cringe worthy 3 hour dumpster fire that it was before.

Not sure if I'm going to watch Smackdown after last week...

Those look like pretty solid numbers for RAW.

I'm optimistic about SmackDown tonight. I don't know why.
Smackdown seemed like a joke last week in comparison to what RAW presented just before it.

The best case scenario is that they just weren't prepared to put together a decent show and this week will be much improved.

I dunno. At least American Alpha will be on tonight, so I'll check that out at least.

You might want to to do it pretty soon considering Shelton is 41.

Smackdown, with all of the hottest free agents, like 40 year old Rhyno.

Their hottest prospects are Samoa Joe, 37, and Shinsuke Nakamura, 35.

Will Smackdown have a new set this week or will it still be a leftover?

...no, I don't think they're going to change the set a second time in two weeks

Both Joe and Nak are a billion times more ring fit that Rhyno. And just straight up more talented by a very large margin.

I haven't watched much of Shelton's stuff in Japan. Most of those matches seemed meaningless.

It's almost certainly going to be the same set.

RAW's set has leftovers of an old SummerSlam set. RAW just got better leftover parts than Smackdown did.
