August Wrasslin' |OT| Make a.. make a good...uh...a good wrestling thread

"WWE.com reported that Heath Slater was in talks with EVOLVE after becoming a free agent following the WWE draft. We can now confirm that negotiations are at a standstill. Slater is now focused on his match against Rhyno this Tuesday on Smackdown Live on the USA Network. If Slater wins this match, he will be signed to the Smackdown brand."
Evolve has their checkbook open and ready to give Heath that Kobe Bryant contract for coming.

Just realised I fell into the common trap of only posting my negative opinions so here's what I like about WWE right now:

- Most people won't care too much, but I love the production shake ups. Also really glad to see continued developments in this area on this week's Smackdown. The in-ring interviews post match need to stay, I like the gib cam (although they did abuse it at first, they held off on this week's shows), I love the Smackdown bios coming down on the right side of the screen, this week, and I like the new Raw set. Only negative is I don't like the new Smackdown set - it feels empty, and when the roster feels empty...y'know. They've got some work to do there.

- Sasha and Charlotte's program right now rules. I'm a Sasha mark and I recognise she has some work to do on the promo front, but she was improved this week although you could tell it was scripted. That might actually be the problem because when Sasha isn't mic'd, she plays her character so well. Hoping for some growth there AND hoping for a stipulation on the match at SS, maybe a cage match?

- AJ is in prime position right now to fully establish himself. His heel work has been very good over the past few months. His promo with Cena this week on SD wasn't amazing, no, but I think generally the trend is upwards. Hoping he goes over and we get to see AJ flourish as WWE champ a few months down the line.

- I actually watched a Dolph Ziggler v Bray Wyatt match with some level of interest. That is a feat.

- The general atmosphere of growth and change right now. So curious how Smackdown is going to fix its weak roster issues and introduce its new belts.

- The SD women's roster has potential. I like Becky, I like Alexa, Eva Marie's new gimmick is funny and I'm hopeful for Carmella. Naomi can put on a decent match, people don't give her credit. Throw Asuka in there and we've got a division.

- Hopeful for Apollo Crews here, he's getting his first push. He needs a character now and Miz might be the one to bring it out.

- Jobber matches have been very fun. A man with two hands. A man who got paid 1000 dollars. What's next? Let's do it.

- Jericho, KO and Enzo and Cass will be good. The most cofident promos/funniest characters (well, mostly Jericho and KO) going up against each other - sounds good.

- Roman is exactly where he needs to be in the US title area. I do hope Rusev goes over because he is another one of the funniest and most charismatic guys in the company.

i could say more but that's enough. lots of good stuff going on.

WWE 2K15 is in the PS Now subscription now so I decided to give it a whirl. My first mainline WWE game since 09. There is no tutorial and I have no idea how to play. Very confusing. Also the game looks like ass. And there seems to be a severe lack of content compared to the last WWE games I played. The real world video packages make for great presentation though. I kinda want to persevere through this gameplay to watch more cool videos in this CM Punk mode.

If Cena is actually gonna be missing Backlash, then a loss at Summerslam seems fitting. Maybe AJ can be sent into a program afterwards with Dean.

It's gonna be Orton vs Dean isn't it...

That game is ass. I only touched the hbk hhh rivalry. Never even got a chance to do Punk's because of reasons.

The AJ they have now isn't a product of TNA. He likely wouldn't have gotten signed if he was still in TNA. He's a product of NJPW.

and Big Show is a product of WCW. Which is much more damning

The AJ that was a product of TNA literally was not signed by WWE when he came calling. He was offered the developmental deal. Instead he went over and won the NJPW title his first night over there and ended up getting a huge deal with no developmental in it two years later.

I'm pretty sure "ring psychology" is one of those buzzwords that smarks use that don't mean anything when they use it, sort of like "paradigm."

really cool to have Itami back, hopefully they manage to turn things around for him!

edit: holy SHIT his left arm/shoulder looks smaller than the right one!

Itami's finisher is "the knee that beat John Cena". Was wondering if he would take the GTS back...

Well he basically can take his 3 finishers back since Bryan retired and Punk left.

edit: Also, it seem he shoulder was way worse than was talked about for the scar to be huge.

Da Meltz was saying that there was some complication with the initial shoulder surgery (which I guess they confirmed by saying that he in fact had two surgeries.)

Asuka is something else.

It's what HHH said too, that he had some issues that hampered his recovery from the first surgery.
