Buildings are booked long in advance. Not only did they need to compete with all the normal stuff for venue room but also WCW. WWF tended for smaller venues in bigger markets with higher prices while WCW mainly did basketball arenas and up to domes.

WCW production is honestly god awful until Bischoff takes over and gets actual money thrown at it. You can see it change almost immediately after he takes over.

Scotty sends his apologies to the CCW fans and hopes to be able to make it up to them at some point in the future. CCW matchmakers went right to work upon hearing the news and have replaced Scotty with former WWE Tag Team Champions The Headbangers. In the new main event at Summer Heat Mosh and Thrasher will square off with Santos and former WWE star Abraham Washington.

So I didn't think much to Shibata vs Elgin, but Elgin vs Omega and Naito vs Shibata were excellent G1 matches.

There is never enough puro coverage in these threads so it's nice from to time to jump in and catch up, and the actual wrestling style and presentation of NJPW is top notch, I didn't even notice there was no commentary on the versions I watched, the action told me everything I needed to know.
