Somewhat big spoiler for the Impact tapings tonight in Alabama:

Billy Krotchsen sent word that Mickie James defeated Winter to regain the TNA Knockouts title. Billy's cell reception is spotty so we'll have full spoilers later this evening.

fun thing is that match was 5 years ago and Cena hasn't changed one bit.

same music, same move set, even the new moves he tossed in to please the hardcore ECW crowd are still uses as his "extra" moves when the crowd gives him a "you cant wrestle" chant.

I know. Think of all the new moves Flair and Hogan have all these years later. BEAT THAT CENA!

Flair was never a big, athletic guy. He appeal was his charisma and being a showman. What's your point?

I don't get the comparison between Flair and Cena is what I'm asking.

Well in that time span was the timespan of Hulk Hogan beating Sgt Slaughter at WM VII, to turning heel and starting the nWo. It's amazing that Cena's character, feuds, or anything have not changed a single bit. Same old shit.

FUCK NO BRO! Dogging Cena for the same moves make no sense. You would have to throw every known wrestler under the bus,

Remember when Steamboat went heel. That was cool.

Only when they make a big jump from midcard to main event. At least Austin did, added the thesz press, spinebuster and changed his finisher from the million $ dream to the stunner.

Austin had to change his move set because his body was pretty much fucked.

Orton's been adding a bunch of new moves to his arsenal, too.

And guys like Dolph and JoMo are always doing crazy shit.

That's true. Definitely adds to the love Orton has around here.

I've made better CAWs with my eyes closed than Crimson.

But, as far as recent TNA "homegrown" talent goes, he's one of the good ones. He just doesn't stand out, in my opinion.

CM Punk, Jericho, AJ Styles and those type of guys are always adding new things, or bringing back old moves to stay fresh. The Undertaker gradually added more MMA style stuff to his moveset, Shawn Michaels pulled out back suplexes and piledrivers when needed plus added chops + figure 4 in the second half of his career, The Rock changed ALL his mannerisms numerous times through his career, Stone Cold changed completely for Austin 3:16, then got more viscous for his heel run, etc. etc. etc.

John Cena has been the SAME for 6+ YEARS. Not even a small change through all of his numerous feuds.

Angle's arms is small

I remember when he left WWE they were really worried about his health. It made it seem like he was going to die. Glad he' still around, but man... looks so different.

You don't remember last November when he added a drop kick?

Not really.

But there characters do evolve over time. Look at cm punk. He has gotten a new look nearly once a year. Y2J got a new look when he returned, even old guys like sting are doing something different.

Cena how ever has been giving the same promos and same match build ups since he moved to raw in 2005 and everything just sort of blurs thoughter now.

Even the rock who has his go to lines always has something new to say
.

Maybe he doesn't need to go heel but some new music or a few new slogans would shake things up

Yeah, after I typed my question, the first wrestler that I thought of was Jericho. If you look at a match of his in WCW and then watch some of his WWE material, it wouldn't be so similar. He went through numerous signature moves in his tenure.

Jericho is really something else when you think about it: A+ on the mic, an A+ technical wrestler almost in the leagues of a Benoit/Regal approach, and an A+ brawler.

After those iconic wrestlers, I'm having a hard time thinking of any other wrestlers that changed their styles. Certain wrestlers may adopt a move or two in the span of a few years but nothing big.

I can definitely agree on this.

As was mentioned before, the dropkick is just one of his "reserve" moves that he uses in a 20+ minute match when the crowd starts the "You Can't Wrestle" chants. Even those are getting tired at this point. He needs to evolve.
