Also, I should make it clear that lunch probably won't be at my place (unless someone brings something or we order in). I'll be on my diet that day, so I'll be abstaining from snacks and stuff, but I have absolutely no problem with you guys eating whatever.

Cool beans. When you said "lunch at my place", I thought it meant exactly that. I thought you were planning on whipping up a surprise in the kitchen and would wander on out at lunchtime and say "check out this roast I cooked everyone, dig in!" ... or something, haha.

So my brother's in Malaysia and it turns out a Vita is roughly $250 AUD over there. 3G version is only $300, which is still $50 less than what EB is selling the Wifi version in Australia for.

Might get him to buy me one, but does anyone know the region restrictions if I do so? I'd imagine the 3G is locked to a specific provider but besides that do I have anything else to worry about?

The weekend of the 17th might be OK for me, the weekend of the 24th should be OK, but any other weekend is out for me this month. A midweek meet is possible but since I neither work nor live on the city would have to be sorted ahead of time.

I know some weren't keen on the idea of a beer showcase meet, but I think the event is on this month sometime so could still be a possibility.

Just about any chick with a British accent has me at "what the fuck are you looking at, creep?"

I'm just going to guess, shitty extended universe comic (it wouldn't be a book, they'd want you to see the edgy art they did for it). Darth Maul is found at the bottom of the exhaust pit or w/e he fell into. He has been sustaining himself with the help of the force. The only way to keep him alive would be to give him cyborg legs inspired very clearly by the design of General Grievous. He becomes even more of a ninja.

Edit: Apparently the canon version is (Spoilers for season 4 of The Clone Wars if anyone cares)
"Maul survived through his hate and will to live, and hatred against Kenobi, he reached out with the Force and grabbed an air vent. He somehow escaped from Naboo and arrived to Lotho Minor in order to escape his master's anger for Maul's failure. Maul acquired a six-legged cybernetic apparatus to replace his lost lower body, and stayed in the caves of the planet. For over ten years, Maul's memories were lost and he was in state of near-madness, eating only the little animals that came to the cave, but the only thing he remembered was Obi-Wan Kenobi and how he took his legs."

Also there is a non-canon story that is closer to my predicted tale
"As it turns out, Maul somehow survived his bisection and subsequent fall into the reactor shaft on Naboo. Fitted with cybernetic legs, he began a vicious hunt for the only person to have defeated him; Obi-Wan Kenobi"
In this story he looks like this

Fun fact, Wookieepedia is poorly maintained. Would have thought there would be more of an overlap between star wars super-fans and wiki editors.

Could be cool, it's a pretty interesting period, but yeah small low set towns don't seem like a good fit. Surely the same time period in say London would have been a better idea? The costume doesn't suit either. Needs more triangle hats

And that was a good game if football to kick off the season. I'm not convinced either team will be front runners though.

Yeah, me too. Maybe they have the "annoying students" mentality. One time they refused to accept my student card and made me pay for an adult ticket, god knows why. This was at UQ as well.

McEzio doesn't look Americany enough. The hood carries too many elements of Altair and doesn't quite fit the sitting in the same way it did for the Crusades-era Middle East and Renassaince Italy.

Should have ample fodder for the Templar/Brotherhood feud though. It'll weave into the pre-established conspiracy elements quite nicely. The French Revolution would have been a suitable historical backdrop but then again, game companies sure do like the money that prequels/sequels bring in for them!

Hopefully 'human scalps' are one of the collect-a-thon items that you have to get twenty of before you can buy the thing from the shop with the guy.
