I like it when people change avatars every now and then. Gets kinda boring looking at the same thing. I would change avatars every week if I had enough decent pics!

Also, I poured my heart and soul into kajigerring an avatar for Sal and it was tossed aside after a day's use. I thought we had something man!

Jogged in rain.

28 minutes straight. Well, probably more like 26 or 25, what with traffic lights and the like. Still, feeling great. A little sore though. I don't know why I didn't take this up earlier (besides being lazy as fuck)

FIFA INVESTIGATES 10-0 BAHRAIN RESULT
Soccer: It just seems a little TOO perfect, doesn't it?

Needing to make up a nine-goal deficit to keep their World Cup qualifying hopes alive, Bahrain defeated Indonesia 10-0 earlier this week

Sound a bit suss? FIFA thinks so, and has announced it will investigate the match, in which Indonesia's goalkeeper Samsidar was sent off after just two minutes, allowing the first score of the match from the resulting penalty, and six goals were rattled home in a second-half demolition.

Weighing in favour of the 'legitimate result' argument, however, is the fact Indonesia were missing a number of first-choice players, who have been suspended for playing in their country's breakaway Indonesian Super League, and that they had conceded 16 goals in their five other qualifying group matches.

Unfortunately for Bahrain, they also needed Qatar to lose to Iran in order to move through, but an equalising 83rd-minute Qatar goal put an end to their campaign.

The last sentence made me chuckle, especially if it was fixed in some way.

McEzio doesn't look Americany enough. The hood carries too many elements of Altair and doesn't quite fit the sitting in the same way it did for the Crusades-era Middle East and Renassaince Italy.

Should have ample fodder for the Templar/Brotherhood feud though. It'll weave into the pre-established conspiracy elements quite nicely. The French Revolution would have been a suitable historical backdrop but then again, game companies sure do like the money that prequels/sequels bring in for them!

Hopefully 'human scalps' are one of the collect-a-thon items that you have to get twenty of before you can buy the thing from the shop with the guy.

I've tried twice to get into the Assassin's Creed series and completed neither the first nor second game. It's disappointing because that historical secret conspiracy lore bullshit is exactly the type of National Treasure garbage that gets me barred up.

I keep telling myself I'll go back and try playing 2 again but I just can't be bothered. The missions were too bland and I struggled to be engaged by the larger story arc being drip-fed so slowly. I understand the intended appeal but it just didn't seem to click for me.

Seeing the setting announced for this game only disappoints me more because I've basically given up on the series at this point but I feel like I'm missing out on some great B-grade Nicolas Cage conspiracy shenannigans.

Agreed. Although I don't think I've tried that often. The thing that gets me is the bullshit modern framing. Why have that? Just tell the story of these medieval assassins without trying to include futuristic bullshit

The delicate techno aesthetic is really interesting to me.

It also helps me rationalise away a lot of the problems because I'm playing a game within a game. INCEPTION.

It's so they can have the games set in wildly different time periods and locations and tie them together with a story most people can follow from game to game.

I loved the Assassin's Creed series from the very first, I never saw why people thought it was boring. I was gathering intel which resulted in an infiltration and exfiltration plan on how to perform an assassination. It was brilliant. The only real problem was the controls (like air assassinations) were a bit limiting.

All the successive games in the series have done is simplify everything and put a heap of filler in. The best addition was the temples in the 2 and Brotherhood, but they screwed that up by turning them into Uncharted in Revelations.

Edit: I'll change my avatar when I find something that makes me as happy as Totoro's grin does.

Yeah I never understood people complaining about the repetitiveness of AC1, I found it totally engaging all the way through. I got bored and stopped playing 2 about half way through, though.

I hated AC1, but loved the free-running parts of it. Loved AC2 and it kept me enthralled until the end. AssBro I got bored of, but I played it right after AC2 so that's probably why.

^^^^^^former premier of NSW

not just that.....but Gillard has spent the last week denying that she even talked to him :p

what a clusterfuck

Loved the AC1 setting. Liked parts of it but it was really light on content. 2 was just awesome. Brotherhood sucked, I dunno the climbing and free running didn't seem to work as well. Revelations I haven't bothered. Safe to say I won't be exploring revolution era America either.

Bob Carr, hahahah.

My avvy won't change for a while. I rocked Dick van Dyke for years.

evlcookie

but ever so delicious
Was he a good premier or a total dickhead? I think that's the only thing those of us outside NSW need to know.

I certainly know the name but no idea why i know the name.

Yeah, Gillard oh-so-subtly went to great lengths to highlight the fact that she only made Carr the offer 'yesterday'. So full of shit, this woman.

That's it, I'm now completely over politics in this country; it's a farce, and all the players are clowns.

Today I learned: Darth Maul didn't die at the end of the Phantom Menace. The hell is this shit.
No fucking way.

I'm just going to guess, shitty extended universe comic (it wouldn't be a book, they'd want you to see the edgy art they did for it). Darth Maul is found at the bottom of the exhaust pit or w/e he fell into. He has been sustaining himself with the help of the force. The only way to keep him alive would be to give him cyborg legs inspired very clearly by the design of General Grievous. He becomes even more of a ninja.

Edit: Apparently the canon version is (Spoilers for season 4 of The Clone Wars if anyone cares)
"Maul survived through his hate and will to live, and hatred against Kenobi, he reached out with the Force and grabbed an air vent. He somehow escaped from Naboo and arrived to Lotho Minor in order to escape his master's anger for Maul's failure. Maul acquired a six-legged cybernetic apparatus to replace his lost lower body, and stayed in the caves of the planet. For over ten years, Maul's memories were lost and he was in state of near-madness, eating only the little animals that came to the cave, but the only thing he remembered was Obi-Wan Kenobi and how he took his legs."

Also there is a non-canon story that is closer to my predicted tale
"As it turns out, Maul somehow survived his bisection and subsequent fall into the reactor shaft on Naboo. Fitted with cybernetic legs, he began a vicious hunt for the only person to have defeated him; Obi-Wan Kenobi"
In this story he looks like this

Fun fact, Wookieepedia is poorly maintained. Would have thought there would be more of an overlap between star wars super-fans and wiki editors.
NO FUCKING WAY.

This seems silly. The dude got cut in half. He fell a long way. He seemed like a weak ass pussy anyway. Even angsty Ewan McGregOr took him down while blinded with teary eyes from his (and everybody's) man crush Liam Neeson (AKA Ra's Al Ghul) expiring.

McEzio doesn't look Americany enough. The hood carries too many elements of Altair and doesn't quite fit the sitting in the same way it did for the Crusades-era Middle East and Renassaince Italy.
I'm sure the ingame model will look a fair bit different than the concept art. Although I didn't like the change in model for the last game. Eh. Should be a fun pickup for $30.

I kinda want duchovny back already
We ALL want Duchovny back.

I've tried twice to get into the Assassin's Creed series and completed neither the first nor second game.
If so then I wouldn't keep trying. The second game was perfect in my mind, I really enjoyed the first game but could see its limited nature. The second was fleshed out perfectly. I really love the worlds they create and the slightly engaging story.

In regards to the 3rd game, it does have a slight Bethesda-esque feel of going through the motions in regards to a blandish amount of content that exists to pad the game. The first game had this too with the flags and templars but made it engaging enough that it didn't drag on as much as a Bethesda title, but a lot of people found it too much.

So many soundwave people at Flinders. So much black.
Wish I was going :(

He was a good premier IMO. Lasted 10 years on the job, the man is experienced and knows what he's doing.

It's not that the Japanese voice acting is bad (it's actually quite good!) but it's just I spent so long (Endurance Running) with the P4 crew that I'm just used to their voices.

AHA IS THIS OUR CHANCE?

2 people here may be interested in this Chie/P4 related thing:

http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=FIG-MOE-5300&page=top

That does look pretty awesome!

Remarks
For sale in Japan only.

:(

Looks nice but I was hoping it was confirmation of the anime being localised with the English voice actors from the game. On blackout until I find out if I should go subs or dubs.

Both! After 20 episodes the japanese voices are as much a part of the characters to me than the english ones after 70 hours or so of the game.

I agree both are great but if I can have the lovely English voices done right I am happy to wait for the DVD release rather than download the current version. Just want to eat a delicious delicious cake.

Don't worry about that. Amiami ships internationally so buy buy buy!

Edit:

Reptile, subs are always the best way to go. I can't stand dubs unless there's no choice, like the games.

Feh, if getting people like Bob Carr into parliament is a mistake, even if they are parachutted into a high positions, then I want to see more mistakes like that.

Labour should be pushing for people like Beattie and Bracks to enter federal politics, because they clearly know how to govern, and did pretty damn good jobs themselves. Carr is a freaking smart dude he is politically able and I think its great for the country to have men as capable as that serving at the top.

Also he is replacing Arbib, one of the most incompetent incapable dirty political douchlers that you will see. Its like they took the 'wrong' of the NSW labour party out and put the 'Right' in!
