Oh yeah. People are losing their minds over Kony. Even though he isn't in Uganda and doesn't have 30,000 child soldiers.
It's great that people are so enthused about capturing an accused war criminal like Kony, but it kind of shits me that people are suddenly shocked by this. Child soldiers and sex slaves aren't a new thing and they aren't unique to the LRA.

Haha reptile, that is pretty much my exact experience with the campaign and the people pushing it.
In fact a few of the people have purchased the 'package' or whatever it is they're selling and will be putting up posters around Sydney on the 20th of April...Can't be bothered posting about the concerns over the organisation, they aren't the sort of people that think critically and adhere to evidence.

At the very least it allows thousands of people to feel good about themselves for donating to "charity" and might mean they get involved in the cause properly down the track. Also brings the problem into awareness enough that maybe a decent organisation can have their voice heard and helped.
I donate blood to the blood people and my money is currently with the Australian Conservation Foundation, will be pulling my monthly donation soon as I feel it can be better spent elsewhere. Prefer to put funding through smaller causes, with less middlemen taking their cut of the money in wages and fees. The problem with organised charities is the need to pay salaries and costs, if they could function in a volunteer or free-cost function while still being effective things would be a lot better. Smarter men than me have tried to organise that kind of system though so I don't have any answers to get that working unfortunately.

I think I'm only 1/4 to 1/2 way through the game.
The Tuchanka mission to cure the genophage. The fighting and then that final decision, oh my. Reapers are pretty damn big.

I just made a thread in OT about the iPad's LTE capabilities. I expect it to either get locked or I'm in for a massive pile on from the Apple fanboys...
that final decision cut me to pieces. I knew i had to do it to build the galactic readiness but given how awesome that guy is and in ME2 AND the way Bioware kills him off in that cut scene, i was like FUUUUUUUUUUUUCK i feel so bad :*(. There are so many fucking tough decisions in this game

Hardly the issue. Jobs would have left them a 5 year or more plan with where he would have liked the company to be. What jobs was great at was selling you shit that wasn't revolutionary in the first place.
Every iPad since the first is just an upgrade over the last. Every imac, macbook, iPod / Touch, it always follows the same pattern. There's never anything overly revolutionary about it once it's first introduced.
The iPad 4 will follow the same rules. It will end up having a quad core cpu with probably a more beefed up quad core gpu (could be more i guess by then). There's a good chance it will have a touch feedback screen and that's about all. They will improve upon the software yet again and maybe even throw in another app or two that you may or may not even need. iPhoto, iMovie etc will get revamped to take use of the extra power. The cycle continues.
Nothing will ever really be revolutionary until we move onto the next big thing. Whatever the heck that might be.
The Fred Hollows Foundation. It's the only organisation that I'm quite sure most of the money I donate goes to helping people in 3rd world countries.

So, the Windpad. Lookin' pretty sweet. Screen is a fingerprint magnet, gonna see if I can get a matte screen protector. Would be contemplating putting Win8 on it now but I can't find a fucking USB storage device that can be formatted to make a bootable thingy out of. I WORK IN A FUCKING IT DEPARTMENT. Stupid.
