Austin Walker joins Giant Bomb

OH MAN AUSTIN WALKER JOINING US ISN'T THAT LIKE THE COOLEST THING YOU'VE EVER SEEN DREW? I WONDER IF HE'S LIKE STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN DURING THE ATTITUDE ERA

What a horrible top 10 list.

I too get angry and post when someone's tastes differ from my own! OUTRAGE!

Never heard of Austin before this so I'm looking forward to seeing him in some content. Gonna have to listen to the Beastcast here soon. Stoked they finally announced the new hire.

listening to the beastcast now, austin walker seems like a perfect add. his thoughts on nintendo and the controller experimentation was a perfect response to the nintendo 'criticism' from jeff bakalar. i italicize because that guy had some disregard/ignorance for the company's positives and what they do right.

Weird I didn't realize I was on 4chan

as you respond in the most neogaf way

The amount of negativity shown towards Patrick is pretty gross

Congrats to Austin and looking forward to reading/seeing his input into GBeast's excellent content

I don't really read anything on Giant Bomb (news, reviews etc.), I hope the new Anime Editor can change that.

Cool. I dislike his line of reasoning in the Code Name S.T.E.A.M. review on Gamespot (and I think he missed the context of how it has two historical modes, one we view through Milton and the other via battle maps), but he's a talented writer otherwise.

Before I even clicked on the thread I figured there'd be people taking shots at Patrick. I'll never understand why people can't like one thing without dumping on another.

Anyway, new hire and new podcast. Gbeast is really becoming "a thing". Not familiar with Austin but I had also never heard of Dan+Jason so I'm sure hes a great fit.

Just finished the Beastcast. I'm super excited that it seems like Austin is going to bring some serious and more intellectual input to the table. And not just about games, but the entire medium. These kind of conversations have become way too rare lately.

Hope GB East gets one more person. Four is the sweet spot for podcasts and QLs.

Probably not in a good while. But they're planning on keeping The Beastcast as a four person podcast with Vinny, Alex and Austin as regulars, and a rotating fourth chair with Jeff Bakalar as the most recurring guest.

Listening to the BeastCast, he sounds like a guy that would be a great researcher and informative. I feel like he is in graduate mode in terms of how he talks/acts. Just wait till he gets hit by the grind of production.

That's great too. Like Weekend Confirmed then.

I've been reading through Austin Walker's previous work, and I think I might be in love with this man. I'm now super excited for the Beastcast, and for the going ons at GB East in general. Vinny + Alex have been able to carry much on their own, but the addition of Austin should round out the crew beautifully.

Dan sealed the Bombcast's place in my weekly rotation, and I expect Austin to do the same for the Beastcast. As a bonus, that also means more Vinny in my life, so I'm generally pretty pumped with the direction GB has been going in over recent times.

Also, thanks to Walker, I've picked up Fantasy Life and am now installing Dwarf Fortress. Let the honeymoon phase begin.

Awesome. I still have to listen to the first episode of the BEASTcast, but I did a quick Google search for this man who, I admit, did not know about. He looks like a perfect fit for GBEAST: young, smart, able to provide a new perspective, and pursuing a PhD. He's like the Xavier Woods of video gaming.

If I could ask for one person to become part of GB it would be my favourite (former) press person ever: N'Gai Croal

I love that guy so much.
He's She-Hulk
