I get the impression that learning manual is just one of those things you have to do through practice, but does anyone have any pointers for a newbie?
Congrats on the WRX and selecting the manual.
I own a 2015 WRX and the manual doesn't have a great "feel" compared to other sports cars, especially when changing from 1st to 2nd. I still find it a little hard to drive it smooth considering the boost comes on so early (2,000 rpm) and the ECU holds the revs when changing from 1st to 2nd. It's still a fantastic car and makes me giggle every now and then.
Anyway, you'll get used to it in no time. I learnt in a RX8 and made a fool of myself plenty of times. Just keep at it!
