I'm pretty sure you've read more of both those authors than I have (since I've read exactly none), so then you should find it more believable than I do!
Into my veins.
A decent enough denoument for a show that I can't quite articulate why I dislike outside of the mediocre technical side. I guess Naho & Kakeru never grew up in my eyes to be interesting characters and a lot of their interactions smacked of some awkward shoujo ? Something like that.
Like, do you guys understand the real benefit of AOTY after their respective years are over? It's to have a convenient repository of shows to look back on and recommend to others. The actual prestige involved is a minor concern, except for cracking jokes about how X series was robbed.
That's true, unless Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt wins.

BUT. For the purpose of AOTY, "anime" is defined as "something exceptional and precious enough that the esteemed members of the AnimeGAF thread would deem worthwhile to discuss in some form." So yes, Thunderbolt Fantasy is absolutely anime.
Angel Beats on that list is possibly the greater crime.

Agreed! Just the infuse of personality from the eclectic talent involved for each crazy segment gave it enough prestige.Panty and Stocking fucking owns

Anthem of the Heart
Now on one hand, I have to commend the film for making the four main leads pretty good characters in their own right. They all act and emote in ways that consistently believable, and they rarely fall too heavily into an archetypal role. (The voice actress for Naruse did a particularly good job in my opinion.) At the time, I can't escape the feeling the film is pretty flat. I don't feel the film builds upon its quiet drama terribly well, and it just kind of ends. Maybe that's because the film in its efforts to avoid over the top drama also keeps a lot in the background? I didn't quite get a good feel for what Takumi's struggles were exactly.
There's a vote for Concrete Revolution!!!
You should conduct AotYs five years after the event by which point there'll only be about ten titles that anyone even remembers from back then.
Which ironically means Panty & Stocking would still be on the list lol
I felt almost the opposite, in that I felt like the film toyed a little too much with over the top drama, particularly at the climax in the abandoned hotel - though considering it came from the Ano Hana team it was still admirably restrained. I found the musical performance itself, particularly the dual-melody song, rather moving and a good way to sum up the film. I'm not sure what you're looking for from Takumi; he didn't have particularly big trauma, just a problem with not expressing himself when doing so would have made things better for his relationships with others.
It's from the OP and that is pretty much the normal speed. Is there a longer gif where it shows both of their dance moves at normal speed?
Shadow council was installed after that year. Thusly it is the most pure opinion of Gaf's tastes at that period in time.I know that somehow P&S won that year, but now that I see the list, that year also saw the release of motherfucking Tatami Galaxy. WTF Gaf.

Accel World: Infinite Burst
Can I just get Season 2 already please?

I forgot to mention the most important part of Concrete Revolutio :
Earth-chan is best girl!
The lists are filled with landmines, so pushing people towards the results as some kind of reference for what is good is less than useful. It also seems increasingly obvious that smaller or more niche animation projects are just not breaking through on the collective list. Having stuff like Thunderbolt Fantasy on there just contributes to boxing stuff out and it feels especially needless when it doesn't belong on the list to begin with.Like, do you guys understand the real benefit of AOTY after their respective years are over? This is not my kind of stuff but the first episode didn't repulse me.
I mean...niche in the sense that all of these shows are niche I guess. There is definitely stuff that lives in a more obscure place that falls through the cracks like the Animator Expo stuff from last year.Thunderbolt Fantasy is the niche project.

Art comes in many forms.
We can take solace in that even if the AOTY list won't be 100% perfect, I'm sure as hell it will be better than this top 5 I just read in a Spanish site:
1. March comes like a Lion
2. Occultic Nine
3. Bungou Stray Dogs
4. Erased
5. Kabaneri
Sound Euphonium 2 - 12-13
It was alright in the end.
Could have used more Kumiko reaction faces/10
