Avatar 3: Fire and Ash - December 2025

I would prefer him move onto something else. This is one of the worst passion projects. At least Lucas Star Wars movies had 3 great ones. We haven't had one good Avatar. Just fancy special effects. The 3D and the effects were impressive.....the story and characters that matter are not.

After 4 hrs of crying he told her to stop because he had to get some sleep. I wonder how long he would have let her cry is she started crying at noon? 🤣

James Cameron: "Here's my pitch for Avatar 3: ……..Dances with Wolves 3."

Mrs. Cameron:

You do know that Cameron had the draft of Avatar finished before Dances with Wolves was even released?

Say what you want but i prefer the second movie and i will be seated for this.
Yeah scripts are basic but the lore, the special effects… These movies have heart and you can tell the team behind them really work on these titles with love and care.

I always leave them thinking it will be a long time until i see something like them again and im right so far.
I had such a blast with A2 watching it in 3D. I already knew the story wouldn't be memorable, but the 3D was insanely immersive and got even better when they arrived at the water tribe. Being underwater was glorious. I bought tickets for my sister and her family, but I think I had a bigger smile on my face afterwards than the kids. So I'll be watching A3 without a doubt in 3D at the theater and I'll be having a blast. Experiencing the fire effects will be bonkers. :lollipop_fire::messenger_fire:🔥

... It's actually pretty sad to see him waste his talent and ruin his legacy with these films...
Lol :messenger_grinning_sweat: Cameron will go down as the master of technical film making. His legacy is secured.
James Cameron said he wrote the 80 page treatment in 1996 (since he said "11 years ago" in a 2007 interview). Dances with Wolves came out in 1990.

Avatar had been gestating for literally decades before he got around to making it. Cameron had done several paintings dating as far back as the 70s that depict various aspects of the world, something he was mulling over for decades as a sci-fi fan. John Carter of Mars and Stranger in a Strange Land were his biggest direct inspirations, from the 40s and 60s respectively. He founded Digital Domain alongside Winston and Ross in 93 after his work on T2 to get ahead in the new CGI landscape, and he used his developed concepts for Avatar - which included a "scriptment" - as the basis for his manifesto he presented to the company at its inception as their ultimate goal. No one could do what he wanted, so he did Titanic instead, which released in 97.

His wife cried for 4 hrs after seeing the latest sequel! 🤣 It's actually pretty sad to see him waste his talent and ruin his legacy with these films. He told Ridley Scott and Franic Ford Coppola hold my beer!

Probably crying because she realized her husband wasted his creative genius and limitless potential for decades on a fucking carnaval ride of a movie series no one but him really cares about.

Such a shame that Cameron wanted to just make this slop at the end. You wanna wow us with tech? That's fine just expand from this lazy storytelling

I had a friend in college. He started telling me about different types of enemies in Borderlands in an amazed tone about how their different colors denoted their elemental damage (I'm guessing Spiderants?). I got the feeling he was new to video games. Anyway, my friends name was JAMES CAMERON. This really happened but with a different name. I think about this every time I hear about Avatar 3.

Posts like the one I quoted above are a great example of remarkable self-delusion.

Meanwhile, in reality:
