They're in the Living Lands in this game. Pillars is emulating Elder Scrolls with each game being set in a different region with a totally different look and culture.

If anything my impression is that (without playing the game to be up front) Avowed turned out MUCH better than their previous gamepass releases (obv. using Redfall as the example here).

Look I'm just started exploring the 2nd map of the game. Here are a few examples of what is in the game so far
There is a mission where you need to retrieve a shipment for a brothel. The shipment ends up being provalactives/abortion medicine. You then have this debate with the madam about whether abortion should be legal or illegal
At least 2 instances of homosexuality just kinda thrown in there for no reason. The npc doesn't even give you a quest.
It teeters dangerous on the line of woke....and mind you, I'm just on the 2nd map.

Xbox is putting their biggest games on PlayStation Day 1 and a bunch of people (including myself) told you the Game Pass concept wouldn't work for bigger games.
Gears, Halo and everything else will launch on PS5, because it's literally not sustainable to have big budget games (like Gears and Halo) launch into that service. Most of this started happening post Starfield.

This is something that would piss me off too but as far as I've seen this game has always been colorful. Which I don't think is necessarily a bad thing unless there are too many neon purple colors like so many other games. A colorful fantasy game to me kind of reminds me of Kingdoms of Amalur or other stories that have more of a fairytale element to them rather than full medieval.

They're going multiplat because the system isn't selling. Anyone claiming that putting games on a sub will literally harm game design and create Netflix only shovelware is the one gaslighting. See Indiana Jones, Fable, and Gears, let alone Doom or Call of Duty. They're all going to be on a sub, and they're going to be on cloud, PC, PS5, Xbox, GP. The issue of a game being big budget like Endgame is not related to the sub at all. It's related to the actual studio's history and what they're individually capable of. Double Fine, inXile, Undead Labs, Compulsion, Obsidian, are not going to be making top tier "Endgame" AAA games because they aren't capable of doing that and they aren't even trying to do that. They're AA studios.

Nintendo also has AA studios it works with extremely regularly and puts out many AA games like Echoes of Wisdom recently, or Laughing Man.
I think the confusion about this "Netfllix" stuff really originates from Sony fans because they really don't have any AA games at this point. They are all in on only AAA, and so people think that if it's not that, it's a failure of some kind.

Bisexual lighting is intentionally put into a game to send a message to players and the world.
The color purple has been in use for ages and isn't guilty by itself. It has to be intentionally done to be classified as bisexual lighting.
For example, the bisexual lighting in Veilguard appears to have been intentionally done.

The funny thing is that the opening cinematic in-game still has this gritty aesthetic and tone, but then it shifts to the beach and it's full on color vomit with the first NPC looking like a Easter bunny reject. It's just fucking weird, until you realize who the art director is, and the things he's said, and it all makes sense.
And, as far as the colors, it's not just the colors. I happen to like purple. It's the colors, in combination with the art, in combination with the characters, in combination with the girl bossing, the weak men, the political inserts, the preaching, etc. that sets the tone. So, yeah, of course people will call this shit out in Avowed and be perfectly fine with color in other games or art. It's called pattern recognition and the more western developers do this the easier it is to spot. Or are people going to pretend that the colors in Veilguard didn't have importance and were just randomly picked?
These games look like bags of Easter M&Ms for a reason.

BG3 is the closest in style. I don't remember the conversation before its release other than sex with bears. As it turned out a great game, people don't care about it that much.
The other artworks give off different vibes. It's not just about colors, but this Fornitesque style that has become a warning of "modern audiences"

While I agree with a majority of what you've said, no one can convince me that any Xbox fan (myself included) was talking about this type of shit years ago. Back then, the focus was entirely on what Xbox Game Studios had to offer us platform holders, not what Microsoft was providing to everyone, every god damn where. So I completely get why those shell shocked from the console wars look at us like we on crack when we try to have a rational discussion about the new direction.
I really feel for those on the front lines who stood their ground and took all the heat for Xbox, only to look around and see Microsoft handing over what little spoils remained to their rivals.
