Avowed or Outer Worlds 2?

Admittedly I haven't gotten around to The Outer Worlds 2, but I can still confidently say it's better than Avowed (which I did play to completion).
 
Go replay New Vegas with mods instead. May as well go enjoy their game they're trying to replicate.

Insane how they missed on both of those. Once upon a time, Avowed and Outer Worlds were my most hyped rpgs.
 
Still not done with Outer worlds 2, took a detour to Metroid Prime 4, but I prefer Avowed to be honest.

Outer worlds 2 is a much better RPG, Avowed is a much better action/exploration. Up to you what you fancy.

Avowed had the better combat. Outer Worlds 2 had the better story. If I ever replay one, it would he Avowed due to gameplay. I'd pick a different build and likely enjoy it. I can't say the same for a second Outer Worlds 2 replay.
 
Both are close. But slight edge to Outer Worlds 2.

Gameplay / level design / visuals / exploration are better in Avowed. But they are not too far off in Outer Worlds either.

However, quest design, rpg elements, writing are quite a lot better in Outer Worlds 2.

Overall I think 1/2 a point on 0-10 scale separates them. Both are pretty different despite being from same dev.

I haven't played Avowed yet, but Outer Worlds 2 is a solid RPG! Outer Worlds 1 felt like an attempt, but Outer Worlds 2 delivers a fully polished experience
I really enjoyed playing it.
 
Outer Worlds 2, i liked the 1st one, the 2nd is not much of an upgrade, just bigger areas but i will get it at a cheaper price, Avowed was a big downgrade for me on what i was expecting especially after the reveal trailer, the world and npc's are too static and lifeless and i didn't take to the art style.
 
At the end of the third area on Avowed and I'm kinda getting bored of the gameplay loop. The writing isn't good enough to make up for that so I might drop it and try Outer World 2.
 
Avowed. Its exploration, movement, combat, and graphics are fantastic. Seriously slept on because of the Xbox tax. Outer Worlds 2 I dropped in less than an hour.
 
Avowed seemed to have too much mind around its mechanics in the sense of how involved they are but that doesn't equate to engaging. I felt it was more kind of annoying/obstructive how much encounters take and how many there are. Since the game over-focused on that, the story is bland and very forgettable.

Outer Worlds 2 isn't amazing but it has more charm and moments you will remember. It is simpler in the handling of things but gives you decent optionality when it comes to how.
 
I haven't played outer worlds 2 but avowed is super boring. I need to finish it but the characters, story and world do nothing for me. Combat is ok.

I really liked outer worlds 1 so hoping 2 is solid when I get to it.
 
I had more fun with outer worlds 1 than 2, I think I've completely bounced off it 25 hours in and it's time to delete. loved NV and planescape and all those deep RPGs, but also a lot of time for dumb bethesda RPGs too. This tries to be both and misses hard.
 
Avowed pissed me off. It's like someone took the art aesthetic from Fable (SSRIcore) and put it through an ugly machine. Everything is a bulbous horned bush. The contrast between the artist's bulbous horned bushes and the slick nanite rock piles can be jarring at times. Everything feels sterile like you're playing inside a museum exhibit or a replica fantasy world. Enemies appear costumed and the swords don't look sharp. It's hard to explain. Do yourself a favor and play Tainted Grail if you're really hankering for a first person RPG. Much better stuff. Leagues better.

That's probably OW2, Avowed is based on the world of Pillars of Eternity, and it does it incredibly poorly. It's a case where it's easier and better to play the original POE 1-2 (though the second part is not without its flaws, it's still significantly better than Avowed). At least OW is a separate brand and doesn't parasitize on any IP. Although, both games are incredibly weak and not worth playing.

avowed has better gameplay (especially magic build in avowed can be incredibly fun to play)
outer worlds 2 has better role playing, story and characters
technically avowed has better lore but presentation is problematic

i slightly favor outer worlds 2

Yups, i actually went tru that shit and lemme tell u, it feels like the doc is putting alien in u, u start cursing w/o noticing, whole procedure is probably less than 20min long but u will defo remember some of that time till the rest of ur life :messenger_astonished:
