He loses his eye from members of the Godhand towards the end of the series... it's been awhile but I think you can tell this in the first episode before it flashes back to the events of the rest of the series.

He doesnt wear an eyepatch but just has a closed eye -- this would just be done to simulate that effect.

Certainly not It'd be a bitch to carry around! It could be made of polystyrene, but if it's made of cardboard that's really impressive. I'd imagine that weight would collapse it, but this past anime expo proved me wrong when I saw a 9'x1"x3' cardboard Buster Sword It was pretty obvious what it was made of, though... this guy did a good job of covering up whatever it was.

Cardboard can be incradibly strong, if you use it right

wouldn't be hard to faux metal finish it, it would just take a lot of time and patience.

THat FF:CC cosplay in the second guys sword pic is pretty cool. wish there was a shot of the whole thing.
