Well I'm seeing the EST for this run at an hour as a speed run so I have to imagine your first time through it's a tad longer. I've got through roughly half of it and it took me a good bit longer than an hour.

Yeah, it'd be weird if he wasn't. They are much quicker.

It can be difficult to tell because people think you have to hold the controller up but it's really much more subtle tilting you can do in your lap.

i taught he wasn't using motion controls because of the minimal hand movements he's making. The sensitivity most be adjusted really high. i wonder in what setting he has it.

i don't remeber but can you even play single player withouth motion aiming?

I don't think it's a matter of having the sensitivity particularly high - if you record anyone playing with them on then I think you'd see the same level of very subtle motions (well, for anyone that was used to them at least). Splatoon is a game that you really want to use the stick for big motions and the motion controls for subtle ones, which is a bit like how I often play space shooters on PC (as I don't have stick): Keyboard keys for big movements, mouse for aiming adjustments.

Indeed, that series definitely has the potential to make for a non-boring RPG run.

Remember the first speedrun marathon I saw was Kings of Poverty with Funkdoc and Spooky... the community sure has evolved since.

I'm not too hyped for AGDQ this year but will watch some of the races and the Megaman blocks.

You can play the single player with dual stick. But the game always defaults to motion controls meaning the runner would have to take time to specifically switch to dual stick if he wanted to use them. Gyro is probably faster by a significant margin (for speedrunning standards) anyway.
