So uh, if the Earth is flat, why can't I see shit for many, many miles? Wouldn't I be able to see the furthest point away from where I am on the globe (with the right equipment)? I mean, doesn't the fact that you can't see such a faraway point mean that the Earth cannot be flat?

It's kind of elegant, in a demented way. Perfectly explains compasses and why circumventing the earth according to the maps we use still wouldn't get you to the edge. They've even worked out models for the solar and lunar transits to account for how day and night cycles would work on a flat Earth:
Gotta hand it to them, they've given it some thought at the very least.
How do they explain sunsets? Under their model, the sun is always above the horizon.

Antarctica. Yep, according to them Antarctica isn't actually the continent at our sothern pole - it's a wall of ice surrounding the flat earth in all directions. We only think it's the South Pole because the North Pole is the center, so everytime we reach the wall we are as far "south" as possible.

Yes, you can.
I was thinking they would explain that the sun and moon are also discs and project their light downward, but even then you would see a floating spheroid in the distant sky. I have no idea how they'd explain this beyond a floating black body that blocks the sun from view during the night time.

Yes you can, out in the middle of the ocean if it's clear you can see for several miles, and it does curve slightly. Been on several deployments across the oceans, not sure I have any pictures though.

I described it poorly, it's not that it's always accelerating, it's that the disc is moving up at a constant speed of 1g, like keeping a car going at a steady 60mph. Sorry.
The counterargument is that the sun is much smaller and much closer than you think. It doesn't disappear behind the curvature of the Earth, it just gets obscured by the scenery.

I vaguely remember some kind of alternate theory about the sun actually being a hovering spotlight rather than an orb that radiates light equally in all directions too, now that I think about it. I mean a lot of these people are trolls who make it up as they go along, there's not perfect consistency in the "movement".

You were right before. g isn't a speed, it's an acceleration. Objects at constant speeds do not feel net forces. If I jumped off of an object that was going at a constant speed we would begin to separate, never catching back up.
My confusion with Flat Earth conspiracy is the why, why are so many keeping the round Earth "lie" going? JFK was assassinated by the CIA for political reasons. 9/11 was an inside job to get the world behind wars for oil. Moon landing was faked to embarrass Russia. All those are laughable, but at least they're a reason!
