Bandai Namco will start licensing out its IPs and launch a dedicated licensing division on April 1st.
There's a lot of IPs listed, from their early arcades like Pacman to Elden Ring. I, for one think it's a great initiative, companies like Konami or Capcom with a huge cache of idle IP should consider doing the same.

Good. They've not released a new Ridge Racer in over a decade and the last good one was RR7 in 2006. Let someone else give us what we want.

As long as it's not westernised.

Remember Ridge Racer Unbounded?

Most people just want Type 4 with modern graphics, online play and no other changes

Forgot to mention it. Games Workshop did the same, started farmed out its Warhammer/40k IP more liberally.
Extra Credits did a GREAT video on the subject and this is from long before the writers went off the rails. Tldr: Good games are noticed and the shit sinks. The video is eight years old, but in hindsight it was good strategy which strengthened the IP.

Does it mean that we can finally and actually get a decent (if not amazing) Gundam game that will do justice to the IP?

Nobody ever would mind Souls trilogy 4k120 release with proper anti aliasing.
nobody.
And fix the dam Dark Souls 1 remaster. it's awful and lacks background sounds.
