Trump is an idiot. This is semi-related, but I thought about this today. It would be a good scene in the movie. Remember the failed raid in Turkey shortly after he took office? Well anyway, I thought of the scene in Lord of the Rings when Merry is singing for Denethor while he is eating like a total slob. This would be a great scene for the HBO Series, he could be tweeting and eating his steak & ketchup of course 2 scoops of ice cream like a slob. Because going to war with the head of the NHS and other white house heads is what has been Bannon's idea of going to war for Trump so far? The title is accurate from Bannon's own words. He's going to war with the White House, not necessarily the POTUS.
Yes, but there's a big difference between a news outlet and a news outlet effectively being run by the white house with the 'credibility' that comes with that, targetting the president's enemies inside the administration.
I mean going after people in Trump's administration is a bad thing for Trump too in the grand scheme of things so either way we win?

He's going after the people in Trumps administration he doesn't like. He may say he's fighting for Trump but he is fighting for the Trump administration he wants by ousting certain members and policies. Sure he may be supportive of Trump but not of everyone in the administration. Bannon being pro-Trump but anti-"globalists/deep state" is still going to harm Trump.
The problem is that all indications point to him attacking "Democrats"/RINOs/etc within the White House. Trump isn't going to give a flying fuck about who Bannon attacks as long as it's not Kushner (which I do think he's going to hold his tongue on this one for the short term) or Ivanka, and Bannon can come out looking like he's trying to "save" Trump to his base. He's still going to end up causing a lot of harm this way, however.
That's going to be an interesting balancing act both for him and for Trump. He'll probably be a complete pit bull when it comes to tearing in Jared Kushner and Ivanka, and yet at the same time, that's Trump's family. I don't know how either of them are going to be able to keep things civil if he keeps going after Trump's own family members, and yet, with both of them being Jewish, he has no choice BUT to attack them constantly.

Nah, likely scenario is the rest of the admin wanted Bannon out aside from Miller and Trump probably. Losing the ones pushing Bannon out would look worse. Bannon pushed out, but Trump still likes him. Going to be some negative articles about the ones who pushed Bannon out. There will probably not be any negative articles about Trump himself as Breitbart will continue to fellate him:

Typically when you go to war with someone, it means declaring war on them or you're in an antagonistic war against each other. "Germany was at war with Great Britain," "The US was at war with Iraq," not like Hulk Hogan saying to Macho Man "I'll go into war with you, Brother."
The actual article though, means Bannon is going to war on behalf of the Trump White House, eg, they are allies in the same war:
"A source close to Bannon: "This week is a good window into what Bannon outside the [White House] would look like: A strong defense of POTUS and 'fire and fury' for enemies of The Trump agenda.""
It would seem to be the opposite of what the thread title is, and what the general assumption has been in the thread.
