yeah that was a good exit.

hot native girl might jack job's diamonds. or something's gonna happen. i don't see them getting an easy transaction.

Anyone remember when Carrie asks Job (Jobe?) if he could have been hacked right after the armored car heist? It may be nothing, but I consider that their first reference to a showdown between Job and Nola.

Wasn't crazy about what Jason brings but Job nearly ramming him and Rebecca slapping his hand away had me rolling!

The close-up of his gas station nachos brought a mix of hunger and disgust so the car screech caught me off guard.

So Nola hired\coerced the Amish guy to kill the girl and take the kid to stir shit up with Kai vs Alex? OK but:

1. Why didn't the police run prints on the hammer and find him with ease? He used the hammer with his bare hands. He left it attached to girl's head. I don't remember if it was found on the crime scene or if Nola took it. If the former then it should have a cakewalk case for the police.

2. If the guy was hired by Nola why not say that and cut some deal? You don't need teeth to write.

3. How the the heck can Nola step inside the police hq and kill the guy? Hello, cameras? Monitoring? etc?

As much as cool this show can be, it's as stupid.

? Unless I'm completely misreading things Nola had nothing to do with the Jonah Lambrecht or the girls death. It was spelled out by Patia and the homeless amish kid that Lambrecht was a religious nut focused on Solomon because of Rebecca (and presumably Kia) leaving the Amish.

As for the other points, the Amish guy had probably never been in contact with the police before so they wouldn't have his finger prints on record or even suspect him. And Banshee is a piss poor town that uses a former car dealership as a police HQ. (I think I remember one time in the first season where only Kelly was on duty, she was asleep in a car and someone walked in.)

No.

He's Amish, so the police don't have his fingerprints on record.

3. How the the heck can Nola step inside the police hq and kill the guy? Hello, cameras? Monitoring? etc?

She's a sneaky assassin.

The scene last ep post-end + her trying to push Alex to all-out war might notably suggest she was involved. I guess it's also possible she wanted the guy dead and wasn't satisfied with him going to jail and the seven-teeth necklace.

They never mentioned running print tests on the hammer or the results of such test. Knowing who the guy and his history with Solomon, Kai should have pointed at him as POI pretty soon afterwards. Also it seemed like they took their time with the case - questioning Solomon's friends should have been one of the first things to do, which would have quickly pointed to Jonah.

Yes, Nola is sneaky. How does help her not appear on cameras that should be covering the inside? I can suspend my belief only so much. It's worse enough that this town only has 4 officers and despite all the shit that happened in it and the involvement of a known mob leader, Banshee didn't get any extra hands to help.

This "Small town; no budget" excuse to enable stuff happening passed its' expiration date. Cool but stupid. Which i can take for a while, but so far this season hasn't kept the stupid\improbable shit meter in check.

I knew it had to be a great episode when I saw so much activity in this thread.

Random musings:

  • An Amish taking that kid was a good "twist", probably reinforced by how Kai already knew about the teacher's propensities.
  • That torture scene was fffffffffffffff-worthy. I was not expecting that burin to the jaw.
  • Apparently nobody checks for the well-being of Banshee PD's prisoners. Well, duh.
  • Nola is so damn pretty.
  • Is it me or was it heavily implied that Nola may not be full Kinaho? She's been treated as an outsider since she showed up, and for some reason she really needs to look the most Native American of them all, almost as if she was trying to make a point.
  • Chayton sounds like a cartoon character, I swear.
  • Deva keeps earning points for being the only teen brat on TV I don't want to kill (along with Paige from The Americans)
  • That sex scene between Hood Jr. and Rebecca was aaaaawkward...
  • ... until Rebecca took control and it turned hot as hell. Jesus Christ this girl.
  • Job. Oh my God, Job. That corset. That tie. That sass. He's Banshee's most precious jewel.
  • It looks like Rabbit's plot line may come to an end rather quickly. Either that or the writers are ready to let it rest for a bit, probably till the end of the season, maybe even S3.

Anyway, that was a most excellent episode and I'm damn glad Banshee has already been renewed for another season.

On Nola I also think there is some kinda suggested abuse/sexual abuse there. She seemed really invested in this case while still trying to appear distant. I think you're onto something though with the mixed heritage.

Loved the episode. That torture scene was off the wall, damn. If Hood finds out Hood jr. banged Rebecca he's gonna be pissed.

Kinda hard for him to be mad when he's already fucked the whole town.

Wich brings the question: how long till Hood bangs that hot bartender working at the place trashed by Kai and Alex? She had the station on speed dial, after all *wink wink nudge nudge*

Haha, I thought the same thing. Everytime a new chick shows up I wonder how long it takes before she gets banged.

I can't wait until he gets it on with the new DA/FBI agent. She's fine as hell...GODDAMN.

Another fantastic episode, loved the fight scene and I let a pretty loud goddamn during the torture scene. That was both seriously awesome and gruesome. Loved every second of it.

That Rebecca sex scene, especially when she gets on top...lord have mercy.

I definitely agree on the mixed heritage and the sexual abuse. Perhaps she was raped by the pure blood elements in the tribe for being mixed?

New episode tonight:
The Truth About Unicorns

Lucas considers moving on after he and Carrie take a detour on their drive back to Banshee. Agent Racine recalls the botched case against Rabbit that has haunted him for years.

Such an odd (and slow) episode! The wheat field scene was amazing though. That particular scene was cool to the max!

Man that was such a weird episode. I liked it a lot. Crazy to think how far this show has come from its first season

The episode was too slow and uneventful. I get what they were trying to do, but holy shit at the number of shots of them contemplating and jump cuts and recycled shots. Seriously. It was amateur. I did not like it.

The sniper scene was great though.

This episode was cool and all, the dreamlike quality was interesting. I liked the opening and the jump shots the first time but by the 40 min mark it was enough, we got it. Episode played out like a music video. The wheat field scene was awesome. Glad next week looks more eventful.

Thank goodness Racine is gone. I did not care for him at all.

It was an alright episode. I know why they did it like this, but I'm ready to get back to "traditional" Banshee next week.

That was unusually solemn episode. I liked it, even if it was a bit weird. But damn, it was so beautiful. I don't remember the last time I saw episode of any show that's not Hannibal, that had cinematography this good.
