Based on "The Game Awards" GOTY nominees, which one is your pick?

  • Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 (Sandfall Interactive/Kepler Interactive)

  • Death Stranding 2: On The Beach (Kojima Productions/Sony Interactive Entertainment)

  • Donkey Kong Bananza (Nintendo EPD/Nintendo)

  • Hades II (Supergiant Games)

  • Hollow Knight: Silksong (Team Cherry)

  • Kingdom Come: Deliverance II (Warhorse Studios/Deep Silver)

I only played Clair Obscure and Donkey Kong, and I'd probably give the edge to Clair Obscure.

Blue Prince, The Alters and The Hundred Line -Last Defense Academy- would all be better choices in my opinion but I think it makes sense that the GOTY is Clair Obscure if you think about it less of "which of these games was the best" and more of "what game most strongly defined this year".

But if that were the real criteria, then Balatro should've won last year.

None. All poop.

Best games I have played this year are Xeno X DE, Ninja Gaiden 2 Black and Capcom Collection 2, which are not new games.

Metroid Prime 4 will most certainly take the spot of the best new game, as far as I am concerned. Night Striker Gear deserve a mention, even if it is not GOTY contender in any way.

Haven't played Ninja Gaiden 4, which is probably fantastic as well.

Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition

It's gotta be E33. Though I almost want DS2 to win just to see the insane backlash lol.

I'm picking E33, but Hades 2 and Silksong were both phenomenal. For my tastes, this year hasn't been ultra stacked (that was 2023 for me), but the quality has been super high. Hoping DS2 is announced for PC at the award show. Plus, I have KCD2 still in my backlog.

Death Stranding 2 is the clear chaos pick.

It would lead to riots from the Clair Obscur fans, embolden the Kojima / Keighley romance, and lead to the humiliation of the Game Awards. It's the only choice.

I had a very difficult time choosing between E33 and Hades 2. I went with E33 because of the experience playing it, but I am completely addicted to Hades 2 and it's caused some late nights and the "Just one more run, and then I'll go to bed"

there is only one right answer

I've played none of them
but I'm inclined to say hollow knight

as for your question, my goty so far is the outer worlds 2. and I don't think expedition 33 or kcd 2 would surpass it but kcd 2 might come close

I'm a ride or die for KCD2. It's the best RPG I've ever played after BG3.

Dispatch should be here over Silksong

If we must have a Sony game, Ghost over DS2.

I get why people like Clair Obscur, it just wasn't for me. Once the novelty of Bananza wore off, it becomes a slog with virtually no difficulty ramp until post-game. KCD2 just isn't fantastical enough for me, but that's not its' aim either. Silksong would be my pick, by default I guess. I didn't play DS2 or Hades 2 as I didn't enjoy the predecessors.

Out of the list I've only played E33 and Silksong.
Really enjoyed both but E33 is easily my goty. As a new IP it just felt more fresh and unique, and Silksong had a few frustrating aspects (like them doubling down on annoying runbacks).

I really enjoyed E33, but I had more fun with Death Stranding 2. That came from traveling the world and exploring different regions.

What a weird year. Half of what got nominated didn't even top my list.

I'll laugh if E33 gets it cause they basically made a Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy never wins GOTY.
