Batman: Arkham Knight |OT| Protect Gotham Racing

Yep, that's fair enough. It's a vibe I got – not any well informed opinion. I just don't quite understand how people took such an issue with it. The tank battles got a bit tiring (but that's only by the time I was personally at 92% completion), but aside from that I liked all of it. People mainly complained about the tank battles. And whenever I counted my time in-Batmobile, it was always at about a 1:3 ratio of on-foot gameplay, which was totally fair enough.

Plus I liked the
drill machine
boss. The fight didn't outlast its welcome and was a nice change. It was far superior to the Killer Croc boss in Arkham Asylum, and was the same sort of thing. It seriously lasted about 3 minutes. I don't get why people found it so problematic.

The lack of a proper fist fight battle with
either Arkham Knight or Deathstroke
was ridiculous, though. Such an oversight.

I think we might be the only people who like
Drill Boss
I thought it was pretty cool.

Finally got too play this today, i got the part where tou control the batmobile for the second time after it blows up those tank things and turned it off.
that batmobile is absolutely fucking terrible, glad i borrowed this and did not buy it... shyyyyt.
And the few fights i had, what is batman the fucking flash? He is zooming around like he is on fucking ice it reminded me of too human.. and jesus christ it made the fighting in creed feel skilled.

Has anyone else on the PS4 version had some of the audio cut out for a quick second? It's never really happened before, but having just picked the game up after a week, it's happened alot with some of the ambient audio.

Yes, I've seen it. And it's common, for what I've read.

Whats the point of playing ng+? Anything new in it?

As far as I know: One new scene, you can play with all your upgrades and get a trophy

Did anyone have a glitch with the final Most Wanted mission for
Jack Ryder
? I was able to initiate the mission but
the tape that you listen to didn't play any audio.
Yes, IIRC, the tape eventually played for me after standing around in the room for awhile. But I'm not sure it was really necessary anyway, you can just proceed to the location. I also hit another bug after completing the mission that was pretty weird, but it was also ultimately inconsequential to moving forward in the game.

So I beat the main storyline. I'll not venture into spoilers but that was some masterful emotional stuff. I'd say it was as solid and satisfying as the end of Nolan's trilogy.

So now to trigger the first (and easier) cut scene ending.... I'm having problems.

I completed the 4 most wanted missions that the game told me to. But nothing happens. To trigger the end, do I need to complete a certain number of missions like 4 firefighter refuses or complete an entire quest like rescuing every firefighter in the city?

I'm just glad I left other story lines open other than the riddler challenges. I'd be so livid if that insane last riddler driving course (which I gave up in a fit of rage) needed to be done for me to see the end scene.

Anyway, can somebody tell me how in the name of hell i can unlock the final scene? By completing a whole quest line or just several more random missions?

Also, in new game plus, is it possible to get a batman costume that doesn't get ripped to hell and dented over the course of the game? I really prefer my batman looking sleek and untouchable.

That number is how many more villains you need to capture, not just side missions. The militia stuff is all tied to one villain for example

Just finished the game on PC.

(spoilers)
My biggest highlight:
When the batmobile got destroyed by the digger. I was cheering that that shit was over.
My biggest letdown:
When they choppered in a new batmobile.

I did the same thing lol, shame that only lasted for about 20 minutes.

So, compared to the other AR missions, how hard is Scarecrow's Nightmare?
When you enter them, it says they're "of an elevated difficulty" or something like it. But i'm doing pretty okay, finishing them with over 30 seconds left.

Beat this game. I didnt mind the Batmobile, I minded the waves and waves of drones. As for the story, thoroughly enjoyed it. The way that a certain character interacts with you is masterful. My favorite part of all the Arkham games right there.

Glad they finished up the series to be honest. I was getting a bit fatigued playing as Batman (combat wise.....felt very button mashy to me, and not at all challenging). Looking forward to what Rocksteady has planned next.

If you have beaten the game, you can go to 'Showcase' in the main menu and select the 'Pristine' skin. This will leave the Batsuit in the state that it was at the start of the game, in both New Game Plus and the regular game.

I am currently rocking the New 52 skin, it feels like a good balance between modern and old-school design. The Anime skin that you get for registering with a Warner Bros ID is also very cool.

They should've put that 'elevated difficulty' warning on the cobra challenges, Scarecrow's fun but really easy to get 3* stars on, basically 9 free stars.

You can take out Scarecrow very quickly if you fire the machine gun and cannon at the same time, giving you a fast recharge of homing missiles, doing even more damage. I think I beat one of the missions with more than a minute to spare.

I'm doing the very first sidequest to rescue some firefighters. I got to the first one by following the waypoint, but it says there's more, but the waypoint disappeared. Am i on my own?

You have to find them yourself. You pick up chatter from thugs threatening firefighters while gliding trough the city or the GCPD helicopters give you intel about 'hostage situations' in areas. Go to that area and search for them.

You can also scan the world in detective mode. If you see a tight group of a dozen enemies or so, it's probably a group harassing a firefighter.

Just finished the game PS4 vr.

The Good:
- Joker appearance
- Graphics (beautiful)
- City size

The Bad:
- Combat is too fast and boring.
- Detective mode is only an ornament.
- Skill tree is a mess.
- Too much batmobile dependance.
- Side missions are boring and repetitives. They only evolve by the number of enemys and putting stronger dudes (somes are too damn long).
- Any real boss fight without using the fucking car? (The one vs. Two Faces and the Penguin they are nothing! And the only that looked decent. vs. Riddler "collect all my riddlers and then we will fight" fuck off!).

The Ugly:
- Worst Arkham Game.

BAC > BAA > BAK (never played BAO. now i think i will give it a shot)

Ok, I know this has been asked a bunch of times already, but I don't want to look through the entire thread to find the answer: I'm pretty sure I'm coming up on the end of the story soon. Does it matter if I complete all the side stuff before I continue on? I can still keep doing stuff after I've beaten the story, right? Does the ending change in any way? I think I remember reading about the "true" ending only being unlocked if you've done all the riddles? Does that mean I should do that before moving the story forward, or does it not matter?

The endings are successive, so you get the first part for beating the main game, then the next part for getting most Most Wanted villains, then the prologue for getting 100%.

You do anything whenever you want to and you won't miss out on anything. If you want to do everything, go ahead and do it before initiating the protocol (you'll know what that means when you get there) since it's better to just see both of those ending cutscenes together. If you don't want to do everything, just watch it on Youtube since it's just a cutscene.

I'm curious why Rocksteady ever thought those
Firefly
missions were OK. The Rule of Threes is a boring, arbitrary master - especially when you're doing the exact same thing each time. And really, most of the game is like this - each individual mission boils down to doing the same thing over and over again. I know previous Arkham games did this sort of thing, but it felt less repetitive in them, somehow; even in Origins.

Arkham Knight is, oddly, the most content-starved Arkham game. No variation or challenge to anything aside from the combat, and that's only due to medics. And of course they completely decimated challenge/predator rooms so AK fails to take advantage of what it has available already in-game, further exacerbating content issues.

Ok, thanks! So if I do everything before finishing the main story I'll get the ending and the prologue together, otherwise just the ending and then the prologue once I'm done with everything else? And you recommend seeing them together?

So I noticed in the evidence room there's a case marked "great white shark" or something along those lines. Was that a reference to this?

There's a conclusion to the main plotline, followed by free-roam/doing side missions if you so choose, then

1) a sub-100 percent ending you can initiate once a certain number of villains are captured (first part of ending) and then

2) the prologue unlocked by getting a side missions completed fully (all riddler stuff)

You can 100 percent it no matter what. I recommend getting 100 percent before initiating the final protocol if you want to get 100 percent eventually. If you change your mind, you really don't miss much by watching it on youtube since they're just cutscenes.

However, depending on whether you complete side missions before or after the main story, conversations and dialogue is different with certain characters/enemies. Either way, you miss out, so just do whatever you like and keep track for when you look up the alternate dialogue.

I do want to 100% it, I think. But why do you recommend doing it before finishing the story if you get all cutscenes either way?

Curious how far I am in the story. I've just
done the sonar stuff for Ivy and the Cobra tanks are around now

Also, how do I get the Batmobile onto Founder's Island? That's required for every side mission I have available right now. I totally spaced if there's something I need to do for that like the second island or if it'll just open in the story.

Sorry, it sounds complicated to describe without spoiling it.

I suggest getting 100 percent after the main string of missions is completed (top spot on mission select wheel). There's essentially an "end the game" option after beating the main string of missions and I suggest getting 100 percent before that (but after completing the main mission string).

It unlocks as you progress through the story.

Is it requires to do all the VA missions to get the 100% ending?
And I saw that the VA trophies go up to 69 stars, but there's more than 69 stars available to earn.
So, that's why I'm confused about them

You dont need to do them to get the ending BUT it is possible that you are missing a skill when you are collecting the Riddler Trophies, if thats the case you have to do the missions and get Skillpoints.

Well, there's one available slot on the item menu, so maybe it's that.

What is it? I'll 100% anyway, so there's no spoilers holding me back now.

Ah, all right. And if you do this "end the game" thing before getting 100% you'll miss out on stuff? Or it just flows better if you get 100% first?

Which required skill is this? I don't mind getting that "spoiled".

Is something wrong with leaderboards on ps4? It says all leaderboards are empty

Quoting for a new page. I searched around and found some posts from a month ago that said it was all fixed by an update, but I'm on the latest update so it can't be that. Maybe it's not fixed for everyone, or the probelm was re-introduced, or what? Is it working for anyone?

AR missions don't count toward that 100%.

It just flows better since if you initiate the first ending, then go back to playing the game, it goes back to before you initiated the first ending.

The only real missable gadget is
the freeze grenade
. It's next to the leftmost cell in Panessa Studios.

For me it was the Mine Defusing Skill. There was no use for it besides that one Trophy.

Yeah, and this is the only thing you can truly miss on a single playthrough (without being able to go back and get it like with the Panessa Gadget) since you might use up all skill points before getting it. You can still play NG+ to get more points and they'll be shared with your completed NG file though.

Can I talk about the city for a minute? This game is being praised as having a great open world/city but I simply do not agree the more I play it. Maybe it was because it was always night, or always raining, but to me, the city is one of the worst I've seen. Maybe not the worst, but it's close. I understand it was a design choice to clear it of people, but there's nothing to do here. When you think of a game like GTAV it's not even close. I would fly around between islands not having any clue where I was. This was my complaint with AC, and it's the same here.

For one, no other series is going to have a comparable open world to GTA considering GTAV is the most expensive game ever made.

At their best, Arkham series overworlds are designed to set up gameplay opportunities (fights, predator maps, driving with AK). AK does the best job so far in the series of making good use of its open world. There's definitely plenty to in this Gotham as far as gameplay is concerned. It's not made to feel like a living, breathing city as that would get in the way of what Rocksteady was going for (being able to fight anywhere, driving Batmobile) and it likely would've been far too expensive.

Think of other open worlds in games that aren't GTA — that's the level you'd get in an Arkham game.

And jsut to ask: what is there to do in GTAV's open world that makes you not think "there's nothing to do" in it? I just ask because while there's heaps more detail in that world than other AAA titles, I never thought it took advantage of its intricacies proportionately better than other lesser open world games.

I think in using GTAV as an example, I was saying as that is the best of the best (as you agree). I wish there was just SOMETHING else in Gotham. I don't know, it just felt blah to me. Yes, it succeeds in providing an open world to get around with the Batmobile and side quests and everything, and while I'm glad it wasn't a Ubisoft open world, I just felt that it would have been better with actual people in it, or something. Maybe it was the way I played the game. I didn't really care about fighting the endless groups of thugs just standing around, nor did I care to assist the police or anything. I just didn't care. Maybe it's me. I admitted in an earlier post that maybe I just have Arkham fatigue.

As for your GTAV question, I like to think of it as having MORE detail than any other game. The size helps, but it was the number of people walking around, the number of cars on the road, the height of the skyscrapers, the day/night cycle....it has the things that most open world games has but more of it, I guess. I cared about this city. I would get involved in police chases, and rob people, and do other "fun" things.

What I would really like to see is a city the size of GTAV, but with the ability to go in to stores and buildings other than a few. A truly open world. Will we ever get that? I hope so.

Just did the ak reveal
lived up to the hype for me, ex Robin was an awesome choice, thought the bit in the studio where joker tells the story to batman when catching the new jokers, was just to add joker backstory was great to see it develop further

Also
barbs is alive! Had a suspicion it may happen but wished it didn't was more impactful Fir bats to lose for once

This game needs more harley though she's my fav villian lol

I get what you're saying. Arkham Knight's Open World tends more towards 'Over-designed level selection menu' than it does 'Living, breathing City'. For as large as it is what does it add to the gameplay? Not much, other than enabling vehicle chases. It doesn't even really enable meaningful gameplay approaches in predator or freeflow combat (because you can glide to any area you'd like to start a fight from without the need for a large city).

I didn't mind it, but looking back at playing it for as big a part of the game as it is I didn't spend too much time being 'in' the open-world outside of heading to my next activity. There just isn't much of anything to do. Civilians could have helped in the moment-to-moment involvement with the city.
