and after halo master chief, battle field 4 and unity and this, people still blind ass pre order games and season passes.

egg is on not just the devs and publishers at this point lol

I really don't understand why we are quick to lynch WB when their track record is more respectable than others. I think it may come down to patience and leniency. Lol, love that comment by the guy who called me an idiot based upon one simple post. I guess if it makes him sleep better at night knowing that he gave somebody shit, I guess I praise him for that.

We are quick to lynch WB because they knowingly released a game that was not ready to be released in its current state. But they did it anyway and hoped they would get away with it and cash in.

Unfortunately for them, gamers revolted and made damn good use of Steam's new Refund policy. The sheer number of refunds forced them to pull the game down from Steam and fix problems that should have been fixed before releasing it.

They should have delayed it. It's that simple.

Now after months of "fixing" the game, they re-released it and its still having problems. Publishers that do stuff like this should not be given a pass.

I bought MCC last week when i got my X1, mistakes where made, i expected it to be fixed after a year. Sadly this seems to be a running theme now a day.

Yes, WB screwed this one up. Instead of following Rockstar's example with GTAV and taking the time and effort necessary to produce a proper PC port, they took short cuts and released a broken product. Having said that, I don't think we have to worry about them "getting a pass" here. The Steam refund policy has ensured that anyone unsatisfied with the game can easily get their money back and that's a far harsher punishment to WB than a hundred message boards full of angry rants.

The worst part is the game itself is fantastic. I put up with low frame rates and stuttering just to be able to play it through and I loved it anyway, but I can easily see why people would be upset about not getting a proper PC port. WB made some lousy decisions and they are definitely paying for them now. Hopefully they learn from it and don't repeat these mistakes the next time they have a AAA title they want to port to PC.

Apparently they have new patches coming. Didn't buy the game yet (only next year and only if they fix it), but here's hoping you guys can get the game actually performing well soon.

Good for you. But I don't think say port like this shouldn't be released, it's idiotic.

It should so some PC gamers can play it better than any consoles.

There is a patch planned for SLI/Crossfire, nothing to improve performance to my knowledge.
If there was supposed to be any it should have been day and date with the rerelease.

There shouldn't be any caveats with trying this out for <2 hours to see how it performs and then refunding it on Steam if it does have issues on my machine right? The weirdness surrounding this port and the fact that they were able to flag all the reviews as "pre-release" on steam gives me pause.

Just love some of the comments on this thread lol. Complaining even though Rocksteady don't have to support their product, but choose to do anyway. Had this been EA or any other publishing house, they would tell the fans to fuck off as they made their money months ago.
EA has actually shown they can be receptive to feedback. Not as much as I'd like, no, but even they would probably avoid something this ridiculous today.

So they just used this opportunity to mark old reviews as "pre-release" and try the same shit again? Okay, WB time to copy-paste my bad review.

At launch, I was able to run the game without many problems with everything "maxed" except the Gamework things, all turned off. I had some freezes and fps dips here and there, but the game was perfectly playable and I actually finished it without problems.

After all the patches, with the same exact settings is a fucking slide show. Pretty much like the gif Salsa linked on another thread.

God, you're absolutely right. We should be so grateful that Rocksteady and Warner were so kind as to take the time to try and fix their broken piece of shit game. Shame on us for complaining about the sorry state of the game, their joke compensation or the fact that it's still not sorted over four months later!

Not only do they release a game that still isn't working properly after the 4 months they've had to fix it, but they also release it alongside a load of DLC. Hilarious.

Do they have no shame?

The DLC is actually the DLC that was meant for the season pass.

So basically, people who had it on PC and paid money for the season pass had to wait 4 months to get the DLC they were supposed to get monthly.

Steam should require publishers to disclose if they use High Voltage for their ports.

Not that I disagree, but High Voltage didn't do the AK port.

Why are you content with them releasing a broken product and charging $60 for it? When would any developer get away with something that is this broken for the majority of users?

Not surprised in the least. Said it before and will say it again; shit's gonna be broken as long or longer than the MCC. But I get the feeling that WB isn't going to throw much more money at the game so...

At least there are still Steam Refunds!

I appreciate your own anecdote, but these types of posts aren't really helpful in this context since people are still experiencing problems. There were still people like you who had no problems on the original launch, but that doesn't help anyone. I mean no disrespect, but I hope you understand where I'm coming from.

Why even post this? Of course it's not helpful for people with problems, but at least we can assume it's not universal.

It's because your post was dumb. The port shouldn't have been a problem in the first place. They advertised it as working and that's what people paid for. What they got was a game so broken WB had to pull it off Steam and fix it.

I'm sure we'll all sleep well at night knowing WB did it out of the kindness of their heart, and not because they got bombarded with negative news.

I think the fact that they got bombarded with returns was the deal breaker. If it was just bad reviews they'd probably have just left it up.

Side question but did the sales of Arkham Knight went up? I mean I really hope not till they fix this game.

Whoa, we have a celebrity on the forum. It's Donald Trump!

Metroidvania

People called Romanes they go the house?
I was wondering what the deal was when the patch notes didn't contain a whole lot of info....

I honestly wonder if WB/Rocksteady looked at it, determined the cost/benefit of fixing the still-present issues, and just said 'not worth it, we'll make it up in season pass sales'.

Ubisoft gave away Dead Kings for free as opposed to WB having a community created "hats" and season pass holders got to chose from a variety of games (instead of getting non giftable copies of games they are already likely to own) in addition to fixing the game. WB really skimped on everything.
