Lets be serious, but throughout his entire videogame career he haven't had a descent to his name. With titles like Batman Veangance,Shun Tzu,Dark Tomarrow,Catwoman, and the Begins(game, not movie since the movie is going to be awesome) sign are showing that things aren't getting better.

Anyhow,do you think we'll see descent Batman title one day? If you ask, personally wish Capcom had the rights to DC cause I could imagine Batman on day possibily getting a descent.

There is a Batman title in the works right now. From what I've seen it looks awesome.

Kinda like a Splinter Cell meets Batman.

You have seen the previews for this right? Cause it's not that new at all.

(I'm sorry.)

There's hope with EA because Warner Bros has a new licensing agreement that ensures quality control so they don't develop another franchise disaster.

Also, I thought the Batman animated series games on the SNES were the shit. There was one where in a level you fought the Joker on a rollercoaster which used some pseudo-3D effects. It was badass.

The descent of batman: the chronicles of how warner brothers single handidly crushed the batman franchise just after morning tea.

coming soon to a videogame store near you!

I find switching between menu options on their DVDs more interesting than all games that beared the name.

And I really did believed Kemco was on the right track at first. Damn you bastards! :(

1. please learn to spell decent... sorry
2. Why the hell do people say this? If you look at the 8 and 16-bit eras, there have been a quite a few good Batman games.

Way back when I tried beating NES Batman and even with a game genie giving infinite lives there was this one boss who kept owning me. :(

I liked Batman Return of the Joker and The Adventures of Batman & Robin (Genesis).

Remember all the hooplah over Return of the Joker's graphics, being one of the last NES games? They were good, but not as good as the media made it sound. I think the on-screen characters were quite a bit larger than most other games, too. A great game.

I fondly remember the original Batman. One of the more difficult NES games IIRC.

Batman Returns was great. There should be more beat-em ups like that. I wish they'd make a good one instead of the garbage cashgrabs that have come out now (Buffy doesn't count, 2 vampires attacking at a time isn't enough)

Vegence wasn't too bad. It's worth playing through as to watch a sort of 'unreleased' Batman episode. Of course there was that SegaCD Batman game that actually had 10 minutes of animation from the cartoon made for the game.

there have been plenty of decent batman games. both nes games, snes batman returns, the completely different snes and genesis versions of batman and robin.

The thing is, WB applied this a year ago, and they still let ea release that turd game Catwoman....

Batman Returns on SNES ... was AWESOME. Never had more fun with a batman game.

The Batman Returns games on GENESIS and Game gear sucked ass though.

WHAT!? Prepare yourself, for GEN Batman and Robin > you.

Crap this wasn't about B&R, nm. Need sleep. But B&R still > you on general principle.

also caped crusader, both c64 and amiga were good (was great in fact for a c64 game).

the segaCD game on the first movie was good, amiga version almost as good. A butchered Ocean game is always better than a polished EA game.

The other segacd game featuring only the batmobil is not great, even perhaps not even good... but is sure interesting as a mix of car-shump and platformer (yes you read that right, it have platforming element).

thier are 3 really good batman games
Batman by Sunsoft for NES.
Batman by Sunsoft for the Genesis
Batman Returns by Konami for the SNES.
Most of the Modern Batman games suck, but the 8 bit and 16 bit era had some good Batman games.

Graphically I'd say this looks better than Splinter Cell.
Hopefully it moves smooth and plays much better.

They are really pushing these systems lately. It's a shame this gen is coming to a close.

i read about Warner Bros' new rating checks systems a while back. the game makers pay extra royalties if their review scores (from miscellaneous media sources) don't go over 70%. i'm not sure this is a great system, but it sounded interesting. it could stop the production of terrible games like catwoman but it might also stem any kind of innovation if everyone is afraid of the BIG score.

Already is at least one and from a long time back... ZX spectrum game :

and the amiga/St adventure style one was pretty kick ass too ....

I'll be proven wrong and my face rubbed in the fecal matter that it turns out to be, but this actually has me hoping for the first time is ages for a good Batman game.

Brilliant old school fun IMO!

Batman for NES and Gameboy were good.

Yeah I played that! The memories!

batman begins = eurocom game and they made pretty decent ones last year (for example sphinx, spyro: a heros tale and athens 2004)

I'd have to agree with DCharlie a few posts up, and the sorta-followup Head over Heels by the same guys, albeit totally different from Batman while using the same engine, was awesome too. (If you like it, do not miss the _remake_ for windows, linux and macosx. no good reason not to try it there kids.)

Oh yeah, the NES version by SunSoft was not half bad either.

Batman Vengence was pretty good, at the least decent. Too bad they fucked up the sequel and turned it into some final fight clone.

Agreed...I liked Vengence, didn't care much for Sin Zhu or whatever it was. Would love to see the Splinter Cell team get a crack at another Batman animated game though.

Also agree with some of the sentiments in this thread...the Batman animated games on SNES and Genny were both extremely cool.

And I really like what I've seen from the Batman Begins previews. I certainly wouldn't dismiss it just yet.

Best Batman game ever for three reasons...

Reason 1 - Awesome driving sections...

Reason 2 - ...awesome driving sections in the fricken Batboat!

Reason 3 - Killer Soundtrack (Their leech protection flakes out sometimes so just retry if you get an error message)

Yeah Caped Crusader was pretty fun. Batman might be getting old in it though since you had to equip yourself with a pair of false teeths in order to use any of the health restoring food items.

Not to derail the thread but he edited his post and it still reads like all kinds of ASS! :lol

Andrew2 = the NEW REIROM

P.S. Like the other guys were saying there were several good Batman games during the 16 bit era

JackFrost2012: It's not really that "whack" to be honest. From what I heard, Jon Ritman (the creator of both games) just wanted to make an even better game with more puzzles, so adding two characters was just a way for him to make the puzzles more complex. And while he was at it, he made the game twice as big too with over 300 rooms. Why he didn't use Batman and Robin instead of Head and Heels I dont know, maybe he lost the rights to some other company.. but I really don't mind, Head over Heels is one of my favorite games of all time, and I wouldn't want to have it any other way. :)

Batman the movie on Amiga was GREAT, GREAT i tell you !
Mixed Bionic Commando-esque sections with awesome looking driving sections, it was brilliant.
Yeah, the isometric Speccy version was pretty good too.
And there's a couple konami batman-games on the Snes, one is a - very good, iirc- final fight style scrolling beat em up, the other is based on the cartoon and is a good action platformer.
And there's something good on genesis and nes and...actually, batman has seen quite a lot of decent games compared to all other comics' superheroes.

Most Batman games are pretty good.

Like others have mentioned, Batman[NES], Batman - Revenge of the Joker[NES], Batman Returns[SNES], The Adventures of Batman and Robin[SNES], Batman[Genesis], The Adventures of Batman and Robin[Genesis], and Batman Vengeance[PS2, GC, Xbox] were all great games. Actually I thought Batman: The Rise of Sin Zsu and Batman Returns for the Sega CD were also pretty good.

The only Batman games I would avoid are the Batman Forever games by Acclaim(Well, the Arcade game was.....okay), Batman: Dark Tomorrow, Batman Beyond, and that racing game...Gotham Racing or whatever it was called.
