Since everyone is posting their order.

Sam's Town > Hot Fuss > Battle Born > Day & Age

'Prize Fighter' is the gem of Battle Born. The album itself is rock solid except when it veers off into elements of Brandon's solo album.

There's nothing wrong with sticking "ballads" near the first 4 or so songs. That would be a problem in the day and age (no pun intended) of linear cassette playing, but with CD's and digital media, just skip it and come back to it later... the order of an album is not as important, either you dislike the songs or not, but that is an unusual complaint to me.

Ugh, what? Album order is TOTALLY important. I know I can skip it, but it's absolutely still something that I consider when thinking about my 'review' of an album. I don't think I can really articulate why it's important to me at the moment, and obviously if I dislike songs/don't wanna hear them, i'll skip them, but to say that the overall order is unimportant is silly, IMO. The flow of energy and tone from song to song can totally change how I feel about a particular song.

Yeah...just not feeling this album. I'm a huge Killers fan, but I didn't dig D&A, and I'm not feeling this either.

It keeps veering so close to country music...there's no "energy" in the vast majority of the songs, it's just kinda mumbling and bumbling along...

Flesh and Bone is an AMAZING track, so is Runaways, and Miss Atomic Bomb is decent, but the rest is just so...boring? No buildups, no energy.

Disappointed :( There's only so many times I can listen to flesh and bone on repeat !

I won some free Bose headphones from AMEX off Twitter like 30 minutes ago due to some Killers trivia. Woohoo!

Haven't listened to the record yet.

Actually terrible album. Nothing remotely catchy, and lyrics are even more banal than typical Killers fare. Yuck. One of the worst I've listened to this year, if not the worst.

You know, the more I listen to the album, the more I like it. I might even like it more than Hot Fuss. I don't think Hot Fuss was that cohesive as an album. There were great songs but there were also kinda bad songs.

Right now I'm at
Sam's Town > Battle Born > Hot Fuss > Day and Age.

I love Hot Fuss, but I can't help feeling it's a bit overrated. I think Sam's Town is better.

Hmm... I have been singing the whole album in my head the whole day... sometimes I don't even remember the song I'm singing.

Same. I have guitar parts and lyrics going through my head all day.

Also, after even more listens I'm picking up even more U2 vibes. Loving it.

Very U2 ish in its laidback approach more than the upbeat stuff

But i am quite blown away how many ballady type songs are near the start... I don't mind one or 2 but geez

And so far The Way It Is the best I've heard so far

:lol yup!

Man, I get chills at these bits:

Cast out of the night, well you've got a foolish heart
So you took your place but the fall from grace was the hardest part
It feels just like a dagger buried deep in your back
You run for cover but you can't escape the second attack
Your soul was innocent, she kissed him, she painted it black
You shoulda' seen your little face, burnin' for love
Holding on for your life
Well all that I wanted was a little touch, a little tenderness and truth
I didn't ask for much, no
Talk about being at the wrong place at the wrong time...

Miss Atomic Bomb

Somewhere outside that finish line
I square up and break through the chains
And I hit like a raging bull
Annoyed by the blood
I take the reigns
Cut from the cloth
Of the flag that bears the name
Battle born

And they'll call me the contender
They'll listen for the bell
With my face flashing crimson
From the fires of hell

What are you afraid of?
And what are you made of?
Flesh and bone!

First half of Hot Fuss still beats everything they've done afterwards.

Runaways is great, and so is The Way it Was.

My girlfriend really likes it (and it's a good record to listen to while being with her).

It will be the only thing I listen to this week, I need to get as much mileage as possible before judging it.

For me:
Hot Fuss>Sam's Town>Day & Age>Battleborn>Sawdust
All of them are, overall, very good though, but the later albums are kind of inconsistent: incredible songs mixed up with some shitty shitty ones.

I'm kind of having a hard time understanding how so many people say there's some amazing tracks and some shitty tracks, when they all sound exactly the same on this album to me.

Also no. Considering it was their debut album, it was pretty much wall to wall single material.

some people like that.

when albums get too cohesive they can often become boring. Good songs get obscured by filler songs that sound similar. I felt this especially with the most recent Florence and the Machine album.

That would be a problem now, cuz I wish they all sounded the same... as in, good sounding, instead of a few good tracks and rest are just uninspired at times

Is it good when you can't tell whether you're in the first or in the second section of the album?

From Flesh and Bone to Miss Atomic Bomb I recognize different songs; afterwards it's all a blur.

I need to keep listening. It's been a while since I last struggled with a new release (and that's because I keep listening to older records, I guess).

Someone earlier said it lacks energy; I think it is somewhat true, it's more "subtle", if you want to put it that way. But there's great musical material nonetheless.

EDIT: The Way it Was just emotionally destroys me. I love it.

As much as the lyric "Don't want your picture on my cell phone... I want you hear with me." makes me cringe, that's the one that gets me. A little too close to home for me.

Both songs are awesome. I think you erased "Where The White Boys Dance" from your minds due to how bad that song is.
